Global Twitter outage, India too suffers – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Twitter suffered a global outage sporadically for nearly 30 minutes on Thursday, with several users from India also reporting that the microblogging platform stopped working for them around 7.45pm. The United States, parts of Europe and Japan reported outages during the same time.
According to the website, downdetector.com, which records real-time outages of major social media platforms, Japan was the worst-impacted. The outage impacted the web, Android and IOS applications. There were 50,000 reports of outage from Japan, followed by the United States with 45,000 reports.
Several users reported that their Twitter timeline failed to reload and instead a message showing “something went wrong” popped up on their screens when they tried to refresh their pages. The microblogging platform did not immediately comment on what caused the disruption in its services.
