Blackpink, BTS And Bump Of Chicken: Notable Moves On This Week’s World Songs Chart

Blackpink is currently enjoying the biggest week of their time together on charts all around the world, including on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales ranking, which is a tally the biggest girl group on the planet right now is already very familiar with. While the quartet may run the show this time around, they aren’t the only act having a good time.

Here are several tracks whose moves are worth noting on this week’s World Digital Song Sales chart.

No. 1 – Blackpink – “Lovesick Girls”

As their debut full-length project The Album opens at No. 1 on the World Albums chart, three tracks from the project start their time on the World Digital Song Sales chart in the upper reaches, showing just how powerful the band is.

New single “Lovesick Girls” blasts onto the ranking at No. 1, giving the band their seventh champion on the list. Just one spot below that title comes “Pretty Savage,” and two rungs further down, “You Never Know” opens at No. 4. Blackpink currently owns three of the highest five spaces on this week’s chart, an impressive showing for any act on any Billboard roster.

Blackpink control one-fifth of the entire World Digital Song Sales chart this frame, as older tracks “Kill This Love” and “Ddu-du Ddu-du” land at Nos. 12 and 17, respectively.

Thanks to their latest wins, Blackpink has charted a milestone 15 top 10 hits on the World Digital Song Sales list.

No. 9 – Bump Of Chicken – “Acacia”

Last week, Japanese rock band Bump of Chicken debuted their new single “Acacia” at No. 12, earning a big win instantly. Now, just days later, the cut has advanced, a feat not often seen on the World Digital Song Sales chart. This time around, the tune lifts from twelfth place to ninth, giving the group a top 10 smash.

No. 15 – BTS – “Mikrokosmos”

While Blackpink may control the World Digital Song Sales chart, BTS own the most real estate on this week’s tally, as their tunes fill nine of the available 25 positions, with several older favorites finding their way back to the ranking.

Beloved album cut “Mikrokosmos” reappears at No. 15, an impressive placement for a cut that wasn’t present last week, but which also is not new. Further down the ranking, both “Black Swan” and “On,” two of the most successful songs featured on their recent album Map of the Soul: 7, return as well. Those cuts land at Nos. 22 and 24, respectively.
