Amazon Business customer base grew at 111% rate in 6 years: Mitranjan Bhaduri – Times of India


NEW DELHI: Mitranjan Bhaduri, director of Amazon Business on Tuesday said that the customer base of Amazon Business has expanded at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 111 per cent in the country in the last six years.
Bhaduri told reporters that out of all orders on Amazon Business, 65 per cent are received through mobile phones. He further said that the B2B online wholesale market has completed 7 years in India.
Additionally, he stated that Amazon Business has seen a significant growth outside metro areas, particularly in Bhopal, where it has seen a 2.4-times year-over-year (YoY) increase in new customers.
He also said that according to a study, there is strong consumer enthusiasm for online festive shopping and 89 per cent of respondents expressed their excitement for the upcoming festivities with 71 per cent indicating that they intend to shop online.
Almost half of the respondents said they want to shop online and would spend more on online festive shopping compared to last year.
