Apple’s ‘For All Mankind’ Gets Early Renewal

Apple’s science fiction series For All Mankind has gotten an early third season launch date. The space drama’s early pick-up comes approximately two months before the show’s second season global premiere on Feb. 19.

The Sony-produced series from Golden Globe-nominated and Emmy Award-winner Ronald D. Moore (Outlander), explores the lives of NASA astronauts, engineers and their families if the global space race of the 1950s and ‘60s had never ended.

Season two picks up a decade later in 1983 during the height of the Cold War with tensions between the United States and the USSR at their peak.

Joel Kinnaman, Michael Dorman, Sarah Jones, Shantel VanSanten, Wrenn Schmidt, Jodi Balfour, Krys Marshall and Sonya Walger reprise their roles in the show’s second season. They’ll be joined by new cast members Cynthy Wu (Holidate), Coral Pena (The Post) and Casey W. Johnson (Glow).

Moore co-created the series with Ben Nedivi and Matt Wolpert with the three executive producing alongside Maril Davis of Tall Ship Productions.

Following its February 19, 2021 debut, a new episode of the 10-episode season will be available for streaming every Friday.
