Who were you trained by and how did that experience help shape your career?

Kim Kimble – she is the one that entrusted me with major projects. I work best when I’m experiencing things hands on. Kim gives great guidance in the situation. Grammys, BET Awards, Lemonade – she really gave me a lot of freedom in leading the team. I learned a lot with her trusting me and putting things together. I’ve also learned not to complain because of her. Kim taught me that I can do far more than I ever believed I could do.

Who inspires you?

The dreamers and those who work hard for a bigger cause. I will listen to anyone who will tell me about their dreams. I love hearing about passion and love anyone that wants to change the world. I’m very inspired by those who work hard towards that.

My sister also inspires me, she is an incredible human. My sister had the perfect life and was working in the finance world on her to way to becoming VP. She gave it all up to take care of my nephew who has autism. I’m inspired by her sacrifice to give her child a better life.

Can you tell us about your business and future plans?

Continue to work hard and blog to help people. I’m dying to start a blog. I have a ton of content. I just need to put it in one place.

I recently found out I have alopecia so my heart goes out to men and women who are losing their hair and want to help people, especially women, who are dealing with it.

I want to start a blog and help women with their hair loss. I’m always open to doing new things! Tutorials, video blogs. I’ve always wanted to have an online store to showcase resources and act as place to acquire the merchandise.

Campos has shared a hair look that she has created for Winnie Harlow.

One of the first things Winnie mentioned is that her hair is very coily, so I made sure to concentrate on attaining a smooth look. I wanted it to look effortless and bouncy. I first started by spraying CHI’s 44 Iron Guard Thermal Protecting spray all over the hair, to ensure proper protection from blowdrying and hot tools.

I then added a dime size of RUSK’s Deep Shine oil to the ends of the hair. I particularly love this oil because it’s lightweight and it does not weigh the hair down but provides a gorgeous shine.

I blow-dried the hair, over directing at the root to create bounce and a lot of body. Using an Elchim 2001 Blowdryer, I smoothed out the hair section by section preparing it for curls. I like to blow-dry the hair prior to curling, as I believe the hair will retain its curl and bounce, and last longer.

When I was finished blowdrying, I began to set the hair using the Hot Tools 1-inch curling iron.

Taking semi-small sections, and continuing to over direct at the root, I curled the hair pinning each section into individual pin curls. I sprayed the hair using Oribe’s Dry texturizing spray and let the curls set and cool.

I finished off the style by taking down the pin curls, starting at the front. Using my CROC baby mini flat iron, I ironed the front section of the hair making sure that I got as close to the root as possible and only coming up about an inch off the root. Using a mini flat iron is an essential tool as it allows you to get close to the scalp and it avoids flattening the hair when your end goal is lots and lots of volume.

Once all the pins had been removed, I took a wide-tooth comb and lightly combed through the curls, spraying the hair lightly with Mizanis’s HD Shine Spray. Giving us this bouncy and voluminous style filled with shine and glamour.
