One of the most important aspects of digital marketing is social media. It’s the preferred platform for many internet users to engage with brands. As a result, social media ads are one of the best ways to promote your brand and what it offers.

To make an effective social media ad, you need to create stunning visual content. But how do you choose the best visual content for your social media ads?

We’ve prepared this guide to help you.

The Best Visual Content For Social Media Ads

Most people are visual learners, and it’s your responsibility to cater to this demographic. The first step is to hire a great graphic designer. Your graphic designer should be skilled in creating visuals for ads.

Once you have found your graphic designer, here are the best visual content for social media ads:

1. Images

The first type of visual content is, of course, images. You can draw in your target audience with one single image.

While many smaller brands may opt for using stock images, this causes your brand to lose its personal touch. It’s always better to create brand-new images.

Use images to express what your brand is about. If you’re creating a generic ad for your brand, your main focus should be to show your logo within the image. Within that image, you should include some sort of call to action. This may include, “Follow our brand,” “Sign up for our newsletter,” etc.

Your image should be able to convey a call to action with minimal text as a complement within your ad.

2. Infographics

The next type of visual content is infographics. Infographics are complex graphics that implement charts, shapes and diagrams to convey an idea, showcase statistics or provide general or specific information.

To create a great infographic, you must use the right colors. In general, you should avoid bright colors that might distract the viewer. Infographics almost always include text, so you want to make sure that the colors do not distract from the text.

An infographic can be used to explain something that your brand does or why your brand is needed. You can use one portion of the infographic to speak directly to the customer and describe their situation. You can use another portion to explain what your brand offers to alleviate the situation. The final portion of the infographic will be a call to action to engage with your brand.

3. Videos

It’s no secret that videos have taken off. With social media, you can create ads that have videos embedded in them. Facebook and Instagram are the best for this type of social media ad.

You can make a short 30-second or 60-second ad to be showcased on your social media platforms. These ads can introduce your brand and request your audience to engage with it. You can also make separate ads to promote your products and services.

Other unique types of video ads include explainer and how-to videos. You can also create videos with customer testimonials as a marketing strategy for your brand. You can make videos with hired actors, as animations or even as video renditions of PowerPoint presentations.

4. Memes

As silly as they may seem, memes are a great way of promoting your brand. Memes are humorous images (including existing images) that are accompanied by humorous captions.

Humor is a great way to bring in an audience. Even for a serious business, you can use memes to market what you offer. While memes using existing images are popular, we still recommend creating a meme from scratch. Ask your graphic designer what message you wish to convey.

Your graphic designer will create an image based on this message. They can work alongside with your copywriter to come up with a humorous message to make the perfect meme.

While we recommend memes, there are times when they may not always work. So we recommend going slow with memes at first. Do not overwhelm your audience with them. See if they respond to them and if they increase your conversion rates. If they do, then you can use them more often.

5. Presentations And Data

As we alluded to previously, you can use presentations and data as visual content for your social media ads.

Presentations are best when trying to sell something to your target market. For example, if you wish to sell your latest product, you can begin by asking rhetorical questions of your audience, establishing the scenario that they are currently in.

Then you can present data that explains their situation. You can once again incorporate data that promotes the importance of your product or service. If you have customer testimonials, then you should definitely include them in your presentation.

Presentations and data are usually intended for more serious audiences. You may want to stick to a platform such as LinkedIn for this type of ad.

6. Quotes

Quotes are the quickest way to bring in an audience and get your message across. If you are selling a camera, find a quote by a famous photographer. If you are selling a computer, find a quote by Steve Jobs or Bill Gates.

When choosing a quote, give importance to who said the quote. If the quote is by a well-known public figure, then it’s more likely to gain traction with your audience.

7. Screenshots

A simple screenshot can make a huge difference. Many fitness influencers will share screenshots of emails they receive from their clients that praise their workout programs.

If you have any screenshots that showcase your brand in a good light, make sure you share it. A screenshot of how many likes or followers you have on your social media platform can make all the difference to your brand.
