Every New Movie Coming To Netflix, Hulu And HBO Max This Week

At the beginning of September, the biggest streaming services added a wash of new movies to their digital lineups. But throughout the month, platforms like Netflix, Hulu and HBO Max will continue to add more and more options for home viewing.

And that includes this week, when 11 new movies will hit those three streamers. While most of those movies are coming to Netflix, Hulu and HBO Max will be adding a few films as well.

Here’s every movie coming to those three streaming services this weekend:

Cargo (Netflix)

Plot summary: Stranded in rural Australia in the aftermath of a violent pandemic, an infected father desperately searches for a new home for his infant child and a means to protect her from his own changing nature.

Cargo stars Martin Freeman, Simone Landers, Anthony Hayes, David Gulpilil, Susie Porter, Natasha Wanganeen and Caren Pistorius. The movie was directed by Ben Howling and Yolanda Ramke.

Cargo will be available to stream on Netflix on September 7.

Midnight Special (Netflix)

Plot summary: The government and a group of religious extremists pursue a man and his son, a young boy who possesses special powers.

Midnight Special stars Michael Shannon, Joel Edgerton, Kirsten Dunst, Adam Driver, Jaeden Martell and Sam Shepard. The movie was directed by Jeff Nichols.

Midnight Special will be available to stream on Netflix on September 7.

My Octopus Teacher (Netflix)

Plot summary: A diver swims with an octopus that lives in a kelp forest off the coast of South Africa.

My Octopus Teacher stars Craig Foster. The movie was directed by Pippa Ehrlich and James Reed.

Waiting for “Superman” (Netflix)

Plot summary: A documentary that investigates the public school system in the United States, and uncovers the many ways in which education in America has declined.

Capital in the 21st Century (Netflix)

Plot summary: A documentary that examines the distribution of wealth and the increase in inequality since the 19th century.

Capital in the 21st Century stars Thomas Piketty, Gillian Tett and Faiza Shaheen. The movie was directed by Justin Pemberton.

Capital in the 21st Century will be available to stream on Netflix on September 8.

Cuties (Netflix)

Plot summary: Eleven-year-old Amy starts to rebel against her conservative family’s traditions when she becomes fascinated with a free-spirited dance crew.

Cuties stars Fathia Youssouf, Médina El Aidi-Azouni, Esther Gohourou, Ilanah Cami-Goursolas and Maïmouna Gueye. The movie was directed by Maïmouna Doucouré.

Cuties will be available to stream on Netflix on September 9.

The Social Dilemma (Netflix)

Plot summary: Tech experts sound the alarm on the dangerous human impact of social networking.

The Social Dilemma stars Skyler Gisondo, Kara Hayward, Vincent Kartheiser, Tristan Harris and Sophia Hammons. The movie was directed by Jeff Orlowski.

The Social Dilemma will be available to stream on Netflix on September 9.

Sons of Adam (Netflix)

Plot summary: A family and business man is accused of running a criminal empire while he deny the accusation by being the one who take criminals down.

The Babysitter: Killer Queen (Netflix)

Prisoners (Hulu)

Plot summary: Keller Dover faces a parent’s worst nightmare when his 6-year-old daughter, Anna, and her friend go missing. After the key suspect is let go due to a lack of evidence, Keller decides to take matters into his own hands.

Prisoners stars Hugh Jackman,, Jake Gyllenhaal, Viola Davis, Maria Bello, Terrence Howard, Melissa Leo and Paul Dano. The movie was directed by Denis Villeneuve.

Prisoners will be available to stream on Hulu on September 10.

Unpregnant (HBO Max)

Plot summary: A pregnant teen and her former best friend embark on a road trip from Missouri to New Mexico.
