Today, Forbes is exclusively announcing actor, producer, and philanthropist Priyanka Chopra Jonas as the new Creative Advisor for BON V!V. Earlier this year, the star teamed up with the brand for the #TogetherWomenRise campaign, which recognized and celebrated 20 incredible women overcoming challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now, she’s taking on a more hands on role by creating a fabulous summer brunch box for a good cause with part of the proceeds benefitting CARE, an organization committed to fighting poverty and empowering women all over the world. The box retails for $50 and will be released every week for a limited time only. You can shop them now online before they sell out. Each box includes everything you need to make her new signature “Make Me Blush” cocktail featuring a hibiscus tea popsicle topped with BON V!V Pear Elderflower Spiked Seltzer, a lemon wheel, and fresh mint garnish. It’s basically a more refreshing and easy twist to the beloved spiked Arnold Palmer. On top of that, customers will get stylish dining accessories and trendy décor, so that anyone can have a perfect socially distant brunch right at home.
“Originally, we planned on doing a commercial with her,” VP of Beyond Beer at Anheuser-Busch Lana Kouznetsov told Forbes. “However, she’s such an icon inspiring to women everywhere that we didn’t just want to have her read a script and we thought this was also the perfect opportunity to give back.”
Both Kouznetsov and Jonas assured that this is only the beginning of the partnership and there’s so much more they want to do together in the future. In the mean time, check out Forbes’ interview with Jonas below. We chatted with her ahead of the launch about all things brunch and everything she’s been working on during quarantine.
Isis Briones: What’s the story behind your “Make Me Blush” cocktail?
Priyanka Chopra Jonas: “I was thinking about what I love over the summer. I’m really someone who likes my drink to be fun and pretty. I was super excited about the idea of having a popsicle in a cocktail because it checks so many boxes for the summer. It’s cool, hydrating, and at the same time super fun.
IB: Can you share with us some of your brunch essentials?
PCJ: “In this box, you’ll have the stuff you need to make the cocktail. For me, when I set up a brunch table, I like the table to not be about breakfast too much and I love for things to be outdoors. I also love using lots of ice, anything with ice. Of course, a variety of food. Brunch is something we truly go for everyday at home.”
IB: Do you have any go-to recipes?
PCJ: “I’m actually not a cook. I’m not someone who enjoys it. I’ve never been good at it, but I do love eating. I love an avocado toast with a fried egg. I love grilled chicken and salads. I think when it comes to Indian food, I love having a dosa and lighter flavors. I would say a mix of everything is important. I prefer having something heavier than breakfast, but not too much.”
IB: Speaking of planning events, what’s your advice for people still moving forward with their weddings during this difficult time?
PCJ: “I don’t know if any of my usual tips would work not, but marriage is the coming together of two people. Two families. Two ideologies. Even if it’s virtual, I think it’s still important to have as many of your loved ones there and to make it thoughtful. You should send over a box of wedding goodies, so that people attending your virtual wedding can be involved in some way and everyone can still feel connected.”
IB: Lastly, what’s next for you?
PCJ: “The future is really uncertain, but I do have a bunch of movies coming out this year. One is called We Are Heroes and another is White Tiger that will both be on Netflix. Next year, I have something with the Russo brothers for Amazon. We should hopefully be filming that soon. I’m also developing stuff that I’m producing. I feel very blessed as a producer because it’s been a very busy time for me. Our company is developing a lot of really cool things that we should be able to announce soon.”
