Federico Chiesa Expected To Make Juventus Move, According To Fiorentina President Rocco Commisso

Juventus are expected to seal a deal to bring Federico Chiesa to the Allianz Stadium in the next transfer window as long as the demands are met, Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso has claimed.

A standout performer for La Viola, the club are prepared to let the 22-year-old winger leave and won’t stand in the way of the player. With six goals and three assists in 23 Serie A appearances this season, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan have all been keen on swooping for the Italian who is worth an estimated $75million, but it seems Juve have the upper hand.

Chiesa joined Fiorentina in 2007, and his rise through the youth ranks saw him net eight goals across two campaigns in the Primavera side, before signing a contract with the first-team in February 2016.

Commisso had previously stated he wanted to keep hold of Chiesa, but it now looks as though he could potentially leave to join the Old Lady. Juventus were expected to complete a deal for the player in January, but a move failed to materialize at the time.

“Chiesa must decide and, if he wants to leave, I won’t stand in his way, as long as the amount is right,” Commisso told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“How much is Lautaro Martínez‘s release clause? €111 million? I could take off a million for Chiesa… I’m just kidding!

“Chiesa knows what Fiorentina are about, who Rocco is, and what he’ll find here in Florence in the future. If he goes elsewhere, then I don’t know.

“If he wants to go to Juve, there are no vetoes for certain clubs. However, at the moment I have a splendid relationship with Federico and his father.”

Former Fiorentina and Italy boss, and now manager of Genoa, Cesare Prandelli had previously claimed Chiesa could be the best in Europe.

“Chiesa must specialise in what he feels is his natural tactical position,” he said.

“If he does this, he will become the best player in Europe.”

It remains to be seen where Chiesa will be playing his football next season. Juventus are keen to bolster and revamp their midfield, and the wide man could well be at the heart of their plans. Chiesa, the son of former Italy striker Enrico, who made 139 competitive appearances for Fiorentina, scoring 29 goals, could be the player they turn to.
