Scindia meets telcos’ chiefs to chart growth road map – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Telecom minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Tuesday met Reliance Jio chairman Akash Ambani, Bharti Airtel chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal, and Vodafone Idea MD and CEO Akshaya Moondra to work out a growth strategy for the telecom sector.
This was the first meeting of telecom sector leaders with the minister, and also the first following an increase in mobile tariffs in the range of 10-27%.
Scindia, during the meeting, spoke about the need to foster growth in the sector in a collaborative manner while improving the quality of consumer services.
“We have identified a rather deep agenda for these committees. Now, the members of these committees and we will be working together,” Scindia told reporters after the meeting.
Vodafone Idea CEO Akshaya Moondra and industry body Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) director general S P Kochhar were also present at the meeting of the advisory committee of telecom service providers.
