Seahawks At Eagles Odds: Monday Night Football Schedule, Time, TV, Stream, Picks Against The Spread

After an interesting week of NFL action that began on Thanksgiving and extended through the weekend, Week 12 is finally starting to wind down. There are still two games left on tap, including one tonight with the Seattle Seahawks at Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football. It’s an intriguing matchup between two teams that have squared off relatively often for non-divisional foes, with this evening’s contest marking the 7th meeting between these foes since the start of the 2011 campaign. It wouldn’t be fair to call it much of a rivalry, however, given how one-sided it has been over the past decade. The Seahawks have won all six of their most recent games against the Eagles, a run that vaulted them up to an 11-7 advantage in the all-time series.

Oddsmakers believe Seattle will make it seven in a row tonight, installing the squad as a six-point road favorite. That Monday Night Football betting line has moved significantly since it first went up on the board with the Eagles getting three points at home, a shift that coincides with heavy public wagering on the Seahawks. As of Monday morning, the visitors are responsible for 65% of all tickets and 64% of the handle, lopsided action that caused sportsbooks to adjust the point spread by a field goal and counting in Seattle’s direction. One explanation for this is Friday’s announcement that Lane Johnson, Philadelphia’s steady tackle, is done for the 2020 NFL season due a nagging ankle issue that has hindered him for the better part of two years. It’s the latest blow to an injury-ravaged Eagles offensive line that has struggled to protect quarterback Carson Wentz this season, giving up a league-high 40 sacks.

The total on the game has also undergone a rather drastic change, dropping from an initial mark of 53 points down to 49. This dip goes against what the public is betting will happen on Monday Night Football, however, as it foresees a high-scoring affair and is largely supporting the over based on 57% of bets and 64% of cash wagered on that side of the total. The sharps are making a contrarian play on what they felt was an inflated line, even with Seattle’s potent offense taking on a defense that hasn’t been all that impressive in 2020. It would be hard to fault anyone who predicts this will turn into a barn burner, especially with the Seahawks averaging an NFL-best 31.8 points per game. Seattle is also getting starting running back Chris Carson back after a four-game absence tonight, adding another dimension to an offense that has largely been relying on the passing attack to move the chains. Quarterback Russell Wilson is currently the club’s leading rusher, having piled up 367 yards—already eclipsing his ground yardage total across all 16 games last year—and a touchdown to add to his 2,986 passing yards and 30 touchdowns through the air. Carson’s presence should ease some of the burden on Wilson, especially against a foe that has given up 15 rushing scores on the year, a number that ties Philly for the fourth-most allowed in the NFL.

Will the Eagles find a way to finally beat the Seahawks and pull off an upset tonight in front of a nationally televised audience, or will Seattle string together wins for the first time Weeks 4-5 by taking care of business on Monday Night Football? Seahawks at Eagles Week 12 Betting Trends

The Seahawks are 7-3 straight-up (SU) 6-4 against the spread (ATS) during the 2020 NFL season, while the Eagles are 3-6-1 SU and 3-7 ATS. Philadelphia’s cover percentage of 30% is lower than all but two other teams in the league this year, while Seattle’s 60% cover rate is the seventh best.

Seattle has had six of its 10 games go OVER the total this season, while only four of Philadelphia’s 10 contests has eclipsed the total during the 2020 campaign.

The Seahawks have dominated this series in recent years, going a perfect 6-0 both SU and ATS against the Eagles. All but one of those contests—which took place all the way back to December 2011 at the start of Seattle’s streak—landed UNDER the total.

Philadelphia has not won a home game against Seattle in over three decades. Although the club has four wins in 14 total matchups since 1990, the last time the Eagles beat this opponent in the City of Brotherly Love occurred all the way back in 1989. Philly has dropped its last six home games against the Seahawks, including their most recent bout back that occurred in January during the NFC Wild Card round of the 2020 NFL Playoffs.

Seattle has been a strong bet in primetime games since the organization drafted Russell Wilson. The team has gone 22-11-3 ATS across its last 35 overall and 15-5-2 ATS across its last 22 matchups as favorites in nationally televised games.

The Eagles have struggled facing foes outside their division, going a mere 5-11-1 SU and 6-11 ATS since the start of last season against non-NFC East teams, a non-divisional cover rate that is worse than all but one other team (the Chicago Bears) in that span. The Seahawks have performed much better outside the NFC West since the 2019 campaign began, going 14-4 SU—trailing only Kansas City for best winning percentage in the NFL in that category—and 10-7-1 ATS.

Seattle has been particularly partial to beating up on the NFC East over the past few years, going 17-4-1 ATS since 2011 against the division.
