The Walking Dead’s New Season 10 Bonus Episodes Trailer Is Really Good

The Walking Dead’s 11th—and final—season isn’t coming out until late 2021. But for fans eager to find out more about Negan and Maggie’s reunion, the fate of Ezekiel and company, all of whom were captured by mysterious white-armored assailants, and the rest of our erstwhile survivors the wait is much shorter.

Six “bonus” episodes of Season 10 kick off in just over a month on February 28th.

To get everyone hyped for this strange mini-season-between-seasons, AMC has released a new trailer. It’s surprisingly good. One of the best Walking Dead trailers I can remember, in fact.

In it, we see both faces old and new. Maggie talks about what her and Glenn’s child asked about his father’s death. “I told him that a bad man killed him,” Maggie says. “And he wanted to know if that man got what he deserved.”

“Evil people aren’t the exception to the rule,” Gabriel says. “They are the rule.” Later we see him with what appears to be some type of sword.

The entire thing is action-packed, filled with zombies and possible new antagonists. I admit, it has me disproportionately excited about this show, which has been a mixed bag lately. The Season 10 finale—can we call it a finale if we’re getting six bonus episodes?—was okay, but felt a little disappointing after the big wait (thanks coronavirus!)

In any case, check it out for yourselves:

Of the three current Walking Dead shows, the flagship is once again the best of the bunch. The Walking Dead: World Beyond actually grew on me a lot by the first season’s end, but Fear The Walking Dead’s strong Season 6 opening quickly crumbled into bad old habits and rank silliness. Hopefully the final 30 episodes of The Walking Dead are as exciting as this trailer looks.
