Opening Segment Featuring Finn Balor

I’m just glad Finn Balor didn’t show up with whiskers amid all these cat analogies.

Kyle O’Reilly came off like such a heel, and Finn Balor came off like such a babyface by planting his feet and calling out Karrion Kross instead of backing down. Same goes to Damian Priest, who is sure to be Kross’ first victim, possibly before the night ends.

Jake Atlas def. Isaiah “Swerve” Scott

How have Jake Atlas and Isaiah “Swerve” Scott never had a pay-per-view match yet?

Jake Atlas’ obnoxious good sportsmanship might be more heelish than Isiah “Swerve” Scott refusing his handshake.

Grizzled Young Veterans vs. Ever-Rise and IMPERIUM

Ever-Rise were tremendous heels in this match, and as long as the referee was asleep at the wheel, they were all too willing to exploit every rule.

The Grizzled Young Veterans won after Ever-Rise’s heel shortcut tactics backfired against them. Perfect finish.

Tommaso Ciampa vs. Cameron Grimes

Cameron Grimes was both the star and the goat of this segment.

Timothy Thatcher standing, solemnly, to observe Tommaso Ciampa without ever getting involved plays up the tough guy theme of this feud.

The Garganos Appear Live; Karrion Kross Returns

Austin Theory has gone from being Seth Rollins’ disciple to being Johnny Gargano’s idiot son.

The trophy introduced in this segment was the ugliest youth sports trophy I’ve ever seen and it was so perfect for this act.

It appears as if this foursome will be referred to as “The Way.”

Damian Priest can’t expect to just stroll in and out of NXT segments calling people out without getting jumped can he?

This physical was was a change of pace from the technical and deliberately paced matches to this point.

It’s good to see The Kings of NXT still have each other’s backs even after taking an L at WarGames.

Raquel Gonzalez def. Ember Moon

It’s too soon for Ember Moon to already be in this position of an established babyface putting over a contender. She just got here.

Raquel Gonzalez and Rhea Ripley for the NXT Women’s Championship felt like an inevitability by the end of the night, leading me to believe Gonzalez is going over when she faces Io Shirai.
