Luminate Streaming Ratings: ‘Dirty Pop,’ ‘Mayor of Kingstown,’ ‘Non Negotiable,’ ‘Knox Goes Away’ Climb in Sluggish July 26-Aug. 1 Frame

Summer slumber set for streaming viewership in the July 16-Aug. 1 frame as total minutes watched for top original streaming series and movies took a dip from recent weeks.

Netflix’s “Dirty Pop: The Boy Band Scam” and “The Decameron” showed some spunk by making it into Luminate‘s top 10 for original streaming series. Paramount+’s “The Mayor of Kingstown” also saw a boost during the week for its penultimate episode of Season 3. On the film side, Netflix’s rom com “Find Me Falling” topped the chart for a second straight week. Spanish-language entry “Non Negotiable” was a sleeper success in its first week on Netflix.

Peacock’s “Love Island USA” elbowed Netflix’s “Cobra Kai” out of the No. 1 spot among original streaming series with 386.5 million minutes watched — a big drop from the previous week when the finale episode drove the show to 1.1 billion minutes watched. “Dirty Pop,” a docu series on boy band impresario Lou Pearlman, was strong enough to rank No. 2 with 320.5 million minutes watched during its first full week in release.

Apple TV+’s drama “Presumed Innocent” had staying power, rising to No. 3 after six weeks in release with 306.5 million minutes watched. “The Decameron,” the period drama that dropped July 25, delivered 236.3 million minutes watched to land at No. 5 behind “Cobra Kai” (242.5 million).

Netflix’s costume drama “Vikings: Vahalla” (179.5 million) and unscripted football series “Receiver” (149.7 million) kept their grip on top 10 berths.

The surprise contender in film was “Non Negotiable,” a Mexican action-comedy directed by Juan Taratuto, which racked up 147.6 million minutes watched and 1.6 million views after bowing July 26. “Knox Goes Away,” a crime thriller directed by and starring Michael Keaton, popped in at No. 6 with 123.2 million minutes watched and 1.1 million views after premiering July 26 on Max.

Rom-com “Find Me Falling” stayed in the No. 1 spot with 309.3 million minutes watched and 3.3 million views. “Hillbilly Elegy,” the movie based on the 2016 memoir of GOP vice presidential candidate JD Vance, held on to No. 2 for a second straight week with 197.9 million minutes watched and 1.7 million views.

Disney+’s “Descendants: The Rise of Red” impressed by dropping only one rung in its third full week in release to land at No. 4 with 141.8 million minutes watched and 1.5 million views.
