The Swan Is Unmasked as Bella Thorne on ‘The Masked Singer’ Tonight

The Swan was sent home on Wednesday night of The Masked Singer.

The final guesses leading up to the final reveal were Nina Dobrev, Mila Kunis, Olivia Munn and Kristen Stewart.

And The Swan Is…

All the judges were wrong. It was Bella Thorne hiding behind the Swan mask.

Thorne said she was inspired to do the show and Ken Jeong kept guessing her as The Flamingo last season. She said it would be a great experience since she would be able to perform without showing her face and seemed like a lot of fun.

During an interview with Variety, Thorne revealed she almost lost her voice before her second performance, where she sang Joan Jett’s “I Hate Myself For Loving You.”

“I got really, really sick right before I was singing and I basically didn’t have a voice,” she told the publication. “I was like, guys, what happens if I literally lose my voice tomorrow completely and I can’t talk? They were like, ‘well, you’ll still have to sing like that.’ And I was like, ‘what? You don’t have any backup plans? I can’t pre-record or something?’

“But I made it out,” she said. “I did lots of warm tea and honey and whatnot and I really tried to have a voice.”

Thorne picked the Swan costume because she figured it would be the easiest to perform in–and also because she liked the way it looked.

“And so I got super lucky,” she told Variety. “I didn’t have huge wings, wings are really hard. My head was really big and the hardest part was talking out of my neck. That was a little weird. I couldn’t stand up anywhere except for on the stage because I was so tall. To be squatting anytime I had my mask on, which was so funny looking, my crown would break touching the ceiling. But I could only talk out of my neck and my eye holes had the better sound than my mouth holes, so I actually put the mic to my eyeholes. So singing out of my eyeballs, which was very interesting. Sometimes I couldn’t see because I had a mic in front of my eye.”

The Clues That Proved Bella Thorne Was The Swan

Even though the judges never guessed that it could be Thorne, some fans were convinced. They picked up on the fang clues, knowing that they represented her label, called Filthy Fangs. The judges kept on guessing Kristen Stewart because of Twilight, but her character’s name is Bella, like Thorne.

There were a lot of ghoulish references, which probably nodded to Thorne’s role on the TV series, Scream. She’s also appeared in Amityville: The Awakening and Tyler Perry’s Boo! A Madea Halloween.

The first clue package showed The Swan dancing, and Thorne got her start on Disney’s Shake it Up, where she portrayed a dancer.
