BTS, NCT And Olamide: Titles To Pay Attention To On The World Albums Chart

As Blackpink rules over the World Albums chart for a second period, BTS see all of their seven releases currently present on the tally (an impressive number, considering there are only 15 spots to fill) either hold where they were last time around or gain ground…all but one, that is. At the same time, two new efforts appear for the first time, giving both acts another win on the chart.

Here are four titles to pay attention to on this week’s World Albums chart.

No. 2 – BTS – Map of the Soul: 7

Already the most successful title of the year on the World Albums chart, BTS’s Map of the Soul: 7 gains ground this week, proving yet again how beloved it remains, even after months of running the show. The set returns to the runner-up space, swapping positions with SuperM’s Super One, the supergroup’s debut full-length.

There’s a good chance that Map of the Soul: 7 will eventually make its way back to No. 1 on the World Albums chart, as only Blackpink’s The Album stands in the way. Currently, that effort holds atop the list for a second consecutive frame.

No. 6 – NCT – Resonance, Pt. 1

South Korean boy band NCT has enjoyed incredible success with its subgroups (NCT 127, NCT U, NCT Dream and WayV) on both the World Albums and World Digital Song Sales charts, but the main act hasn’t released a large amount of music. This frame, the act’s new album Resonance, Pt. 1 opens at No. 6 on the ranking, giving NCT their second top 10 under that moniker.

Resonance, Pt. 1 could rise to No. 1 next week after it has enjoyed a full tracking period in which to rack up sales.

No. 10 – BTS – Love Yourself: Her

As Map of the Soul: 7 lifts to No. 2 on this week’s World Albums chart, their older release Love Yourself: Her also improves its standing. This frame, the title, which helped them break into the mainstream and which has already spent a fair amount of time at No. 1 on this specific tally, returns to the top 10, stepping up to No. 10. The project has now lived on the ranking for nearly 100 turns.

No. 11 – Olamide – Carpe Diem

Nigerian rapper Olamide launches his new album Carpe Diem at No. 11 on this week’s World Albums chart, earning his fourth placement on the roster. The set is his first to make it to the tally but not find its way into the top 10, which it only missed by one space.
