Apple is shutting down stores on June 20 near Naples, Florida; Charlotte, North Carolina; Greenville, South Carolina; and six across Arizona, including near Phoenix.

Apple did not say when it plans to reopen them.

Customers with items at the stores waiting for repair will need to retrieve them over the weekend.

Days ago, Apple announced it would reopen its 10 stores in New York City for the first time since all its locations nationwide were shut down in mid-March, CNBC reported.

The Dow industrials fell as Apple announced the closures and the company’s shares are down 1.4% following the news.

“Due to current Covid-19 conditions in some of the communities we serve, we are temporarily closing stores in these areas. We take this step with an abundance of caution as we closely monitor the situation and we look forward to having our teams and customers back as soon as possible,” Apple said in a statement.

Coronavirus cases are spiking in states that didn’t previously see huge outbreaks after those areas decided to reopen businesses like Apple stores last month. According to CovidExitStategy, a dashboard built by staffers who worked in both the Trump and Obama administrations, new daily cases in Arizona have increased 108% over the last 14 days while Florida has logged a 141% increase, North Carolina, 29%, and South Carolina, 120%.
