Ariana Grande, Travis Scott, Juice WRLD And Selena Gomez: 5 Important Moves On This Week’s Hot 100

Last week, Morgan Wallen occupied 19 spots on the Hot 100. This frame, his domination dwindles to 10 (still a huge number for a country musician), meaning there is more room for new cuts to debut on the chart and others to jump up the ranking.

Here’s a look at five of the most important moves on this week’s Hot 100 singles chart.

No. 2 – Ariana Grande – “34+35 (ft. Doja Cat & Megan Thee Stallion)”

This week, Ariana Grande’s latest Positions single “34+35” jumps from No. 11 to the runner-up rung, but it doesn’t add to the lead singer’s career count of top 10 hits. When her album first dropped a few months ago, the track opened inside the highest tier on the Hot 100, landing at No. 8.

Now that a remix version has caught on, the tune rises to a new high, missing out on the No. 1 spot because Olivia Rodrigo’s “Driver’s License” is simply too big to beat. Featured acts Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion do win, adding one more top 10 smash to their discographies. Cat earns her second while Stallion lands her third-ever placement in the region.

No. 22 – Juice WRLD & Young Thug – “Bad Boy”

It seems like every few weeks, Juice WRLD is back with another new single. That’s normal for most of the biggest names in hip-hop, but the rapper passed away just over a year ago, so his posthumous output is truly incredible.

This week, WRLD and collaborator Young Thug debut their new cut “Bad Boy” at No. 22. That tune is one of the last ones the late musician recorded before his passing, and it may be the first taste of a new album.

No. 85 – Travis Scott & HVME – “Goosebumps”

Several years ago, Travis Scott and featured musician Kendrick Lamar scored a top 40 hit on the Hot 100 with “Goosebumps,” which was featured on the former’s album Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight. The cut rose to No. 32 before falling back down the tally.

Now, it’s back, but it sounds very different this time around. Spanish producer HVME remixed the cut and turned it into a deep house track, and now it’s been officially released with Scott’s blessing…and his name attached. The new take on “Goosebumps,” which credits both acts, opens at No. 85 on this week’s Hot 100.

This second iteration of “Goosebumps” is now counted as Scott’s seventieth Hot 100 hit (and HVME’s first).

No. 92 – Selena Gomez – “De Una Vez”

It’s been just about a year since Selena Gomez’s last album Rare dropped, and she is apparently ready to kick off the next era of her musical career. This week, the pop superstar sees her first solo Spanish-language single “De Una Vez” launch on the Hot 100 at No. 92. The song has also become a huge win on various Latin Billboard charts, and it’s just the first taste of a whole new phase of her time in the spotlight.

“De Una Vez” is Gomez’s thirty-fifth Hot 100 placement.

No. 94 – Justin Timberlake & Ant Clemons – “Better Days”

While Justin Timberlake and Ant Clemons’ “Better Days” was released more than a month ago, the track reaches the Hot 100 this week thanks to a high-profile performance. The two musicians sang the collaborative cut during a televised celebration of Joe Biden’s inauguration, and with an audience of millions, it’s no surprise the tune racked up millions of streams and a very healthy sales sum (it opens as the second-bestselling title on the latest edition of the Digital Song Sales chart).
