Aventura Talk Fans Curating Concerts In Quarantine For Bud Light Seltzer Sessions

As live stream concerts become a new norm in music and entertainment, the need to innovate is becoming increasingly intensified. Cue Bud Light who are enlisting artists to not only deliver virtual shows, but are letting the fans take more control in the process.

The brand’s ‘Bud Light Seltzer Sessions: Your Flavor. Your Show.’ is a weekly music event happening every Friday in May live streaming from Bud Light’s YouTube channel, all working to benefit the American Red Cross. The event also gives fans the ability to curate different aspects of the shows from songs on the setlist, color of the sets and, naturally, which flavor of Bud Light Seltzer the artists drink—the latter of which could mark an interesting case study of integrated marketing in the time of coronavirus.

The concert series kicks off with bachata superstars Aventura (who wrapped the first leg of their Inmortal reunion arena tour just before COVID-19 concerns hit America) and Karol G (one of Colombia’s reigning raggaeton divas who has been on a hot streak with U.S. Latin No. 1s with the likes of Nicki Minaj, Anuel AA, J Balvin and more in 2019).

“Bud Light has a rich history in music and we’ve successfully built a powerful platform known to bring fans together to enjoy a great show over a beer,” Shana Barry of Anheuser-Busch music and entertainment partnerships said in a statement. “Bud Light Seltzer Sessions is a continuation of that energy and with its virtual scale, we’re reaching more fans than ever and delivering on what will be one of our most uplifting shows yet.”

Jeff Benjamin: Hello Aventura! First and foremost, how have you and your loved ones been doing throughout quarantine and such?

Henry Santos: Me and all my loved ones have been following the protocol from day one. Everyone has been staying at home, washing our hands constantly and using masks when required, doubling up on vitamin C, zinc and healthy foods for the immune system. Thank God, no one has been infected.

Jeff Benjamin: Why was it important to you to reach out to fans and perform with Aventura for the Bud Light Seltzer Sessions?

Lenny Santos: As you know, our reunion tour was interrupted due to the current situation so this was a great opportunity for us to give the fans some Aventura and bring some joy to their homes.

Jeff Benjamin: A major part of the show is how fans can curate the show and choose what songs will be performed. Are there any tracks you’re anticipating fans choosing? Or any hopes you’ll have for the setlist?

Henry Santos: Well, for sure one of the most anticipated tracks is “Inmortal,” our latest single which has broken many of our own records. Also, “9:15 (Nueve y Quince)” in particular because I’m featured as the lead singer, and because it’s one of the most asked tracks by fans. But in all honesty, picking out songs for an Aventura setlist, it’s a headache. I would put the whole studio albums in it.

Jeff Benjamin: Aventura had to postpone the reunion tour. It may difficult to predict, but what else is coming in 2020?

Lenny Santos: Right now I’ve just been home working on new music and praying it all gets back to normal soon.

Jeff Benjamin: Anything else to add that we should know?

Mickey Santos: The expectations are that we will continue the Inmortal Aventura Tour in February!
