Blackpink, BTS And SuperM: Watch These Titles On The World Albums Chart

While the World Albums chart may be shorter than most Billboard rankings (it only features 15 spaces), there is plenty of movement to note this frame. Two titles shoot back into the top 10, a beloved project earns another stay at No. 1 and two successful collections return to the tally after not being present for a little while.

Here are five titles to pay attention to on this week’s World Albums chart.

No. 1 – Blackpink – The Album

Following their incredible performance during their own YouTube-based online concert experience The Show, Blackpink’s sales grow considerably in the U.S., at least when looking at their sole full-length The Album. The title, which has been going strong ever since it was released last fall, bounces back to No. 1 on this week’s World Albums chart, earning another turn in charge of the list.

No. 2 – BTS – Be

As Blackpink’s The Album regains control over the World Albums chart, BTS’s Be steps down, but only one space. The latest full-length from the global superstars falls off the throne for the first time since it was released a few months ago. Last week, the title hit 10 consecutive frames in charge of the ranking, and as it is still selling well, it could easily return to the peak position soon, especially after the band re-releases the project with new packaging in a few days.

No. 9 – SuperM – Super One

As it quickly approaches 20 weeks on the World Albums chart, SuperM’s Super One, their first full-length, pushes forward again as fans continue to buy the set. The supergroup’s second release (following their self-titled EP) opened in first place months ago and it has been performing well since then, slowly sliding down the tally. Now, it improves, finding its way back into the top 10 as it drives from No. 14 (the second-to-last space on the list) to No. 9.

No. 14 – BTS – Map of the Soul: Persona

Several older BTS releases periodically return to the World Albums chart, coming and going from time to time. This week, their former leader Map of the Soul: Persona reappears on the tally, landing at No. 14. The set is fast-approaching 100 turns on the ranking, which it will likely reach at some point in 2021.

No. 15 – Israel Kamakawiwoʻole – Facing Future

Despite the fact that it was released nearly 28 years ago, Hawai’ian singer-songwriter Israel Kamakawiwoʻole’s Facing Future finds its way back to the World Albums chart yet again. The title is powered in large part by the single “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” which is still going strong over on the World Digital Song Sales chart, where it currently ranks at No. 2 (it was in charge of the list last time around).
