Blackpink, NCT 127 And Tomorrow X Together: Titles To Pay Attention To On The World Albums Chart

While there may not be any movement in the highest four rungs on this week’s World Albums chart, two titles debut on the ranking this time around while several others from some of the most successful names in K-pop all earn their keep again, either rising, reaching notable anniversaries or even by returning to the list.

Here are five titles to pay attention to on this week’s World Albums chart.

No. 5 – NCT 127 – Neo Zone

Many titles that reach the World Albums chart end up spending a few frames somewhere on the list and then falling off, as they aren’t able to move enough units every week to compete with those long standing successes that hold on frame after frame.

NCT 127’s Neo Zone is not such a release, as it has now been present on the World Albums tally for 26 weeks, or exactly half a year. The set rises one rung to No. 5 as it hits that mark. The title benefited from a re-release, which encouraged some fans to buy it more than once, while others were convinced when the group added new tunes to the original tracklist.

No. 6 – Tomorrow X Together – The Dream Chapter: Eternity

Coming in right behind NCT 127’s Neo Zone is Tomorrow X Together’s The Dream Chapter: Eternity, which reappears on the World Albums chart at No. 6 after not being present on the roster last week. The EP returns suddenly, nearing its No. 4 peak on the ranking.

No. 9 – Blackpink – Kill This Love

As their new single “Ice Cream” debuts at No. 13 on the Hot 100, earning the quartet their highest placement yet on the tally (and the best showing yet for a South Korean girl group), their latest project gains ground on this week’s World Albums list. Last year’s Kill This Love advances from No. 12 to No. 9, returning to the top 10 for another spin. While “Ice Cream” may not be featured on that set, it’s not uncommon to see a group’s entire catalog benefit from a massive new cut.

No. 11 – Ravi Shankar – Chants of India

Legendary musician Ravi Shankar is back on the World Albums chart for the first time in four years with his new set Chants of India, which shouldn’t be confused with his similarly-titled Chant of India, which are labeled as two separate entities in the late artist’s discography. He has now sent five albums to the ranking over more than 20 years.

No. 14 – Tiwa Savage – Celia

Nigerian superstar Tiwa Savage makes her World Albums debut this week with Celia, her latest full-length. The title opens at No. 14, narrowly making it onto the 15-spot list. At the same time the complete set arrives, the single “Temptation,” a collaboration with Sam Smith, launches at No. 14 on the World Digital Song Sales chart.
