Blackpink’s ‘How You Like That’ Is Now The Second-Longest-Charting Korean Girl Group Single In Canadian History

As they get ready to release their new single, which is slated to arrive later this month, Blackpink’s most recent release “How You Like That” is still performing well in some places in the world. The tune continues to chart in Canada, where it has just broken out of a tie to earn another spot in the history books.

This week, “How You Like That” dips from No. 81 to No. 98 on Billboard’s Canadian Hot 100, which ranks the most-consumed songs in the country every frame. The track may be just a few rungs below the very bottom of the list, but because it is still present at all, this time around is special.

“How You Like That” has now spent six weeks on the Canadian Hot 100, which is enough to make it the second-longest-charting single by a South Korean girl group in the nation’s history. The track was tied with another tune, Blackpink and Dua Lipa’s “Kiss and Make Up,” for that honor last frame, as both had managed five turns on the tally. Now, the quartet’s solo venture has passed their collaboration with the pop superstar, pushing that cut down to third on this very specific all-time ranking.

Ahead of “How You Like That” when looking at length of time spent on the Canadian Hot 100 are two other Blackpink songs, both of which held on for 10 weeks. Both “Ddu-Du Ddu- Du” and “Kill This Love” managed 10 spins on the all-genre ranking before falling off.

Seeing as it’s down at No. 98, it looks like “How You Like That” will not continue to chart for long, and it will likely be gone from the tally next frame, so the chances of it keeping its winning streak going for another four turns, which would be enough for it to tie their previously-established record, seem very, very low.

“How You Like That” debuted and peaked at No. 11 on the Canadian Hot 100 six weeks ago, missing out on becoming the South Korean band’s first top 10 in the country by just one spot. That placement tied the No. 11 high point that “Kill This Love” earned the year prior.

It looks like “How You Like That” will vanish from the Canadian Hot 100 just in time for them to place another new cut, one which doesn’t yet have a name, on the tally, as they have already revealed the new cut is coming August 28.
