BLACKPINK’s Lisa Lets Her ‘Aesthetically Fierce Style’ Shine In MAC Cosmetics 2020 Holiday Campaign

The end of Halloween hours ago means the holiday season is coming quickly and MAC’s newest spokesperson is kicking things off with a new campaign.

Announced today, Lisa from BLACKPINK is the latest face in the cosmetic brand’s Frosted Firework Holiday campaign giving the K-pop star major a major opportunity of visibility during the busy shopping season. The Thailand-born singer-rapper-dancer is showcasing new products that deliver cool, warm reds, purples and pinks for the holidays including a new Rocket to Fame Eye Shadow X 12 Palette, as well nearly a dozen new product kits, as part of the campaign.

“Being home for the holidays is one of my happiest memories,” Lisa (a.k.a Lalisa Manoban) said in a statement. “I can’t wait to spend time with family again and gifting my favorite M·A·C products to celebrate with my loved ones.”

The campaign comes less than two weeks after Lisa was named the newest face of MAC Cosmetics and a global brand ambassador. With more than 41.5 million Instagram followers—the most of any K-pop star, mind you—her reach and appeal is obvious but MAC says their interest in the 23-year-old goes deeper.

“Lisa has an elevated yet highly approachable and wearable look,” Drew Elliott, the Senior Vice President and Global Creative Director at MAC Cosmetics, shares in an exclusive statement. “On stage, she glams up her look with impactful eye makeup, a red lip and glitter, but she can also just as easily shine in a more neutral and natural look. Her versatility gives us a constant source of inspiration and we had so much fun bringing it to life through this campaign. Not only is she an incredibly talented singer and performer, Lisa embodies a confident and aesthetically fierce style that we’re so proud to bring to life through this collaboration. She’s the perfect match for a brand like MAC that celebrates individuality and self-expression above all else.”

Elliot adds that BLACKPINK and Lisa caught the company’s eyes early, and he sees how the group’s impact reaches beyond beauty.

“Lisa has been on our radar since BLACKPINK burst on the scene several years ago,” he adds. “As a true culture brand, MAC is always looking to align itself to major tastemakers like Lisa who aren’t afraid to express themselves in entirely unique ways so we can create conversations and trends together that are larger than beauty.”

Lisa’s Frosted Firework Holiday campaign and accompanying products will be available at MAC North America online, as well as select MAC store locations and partner retailers.
