BTS Chart Six Different Versions Of New Single ‘Dynamite’ Inside The Top 10 On Itunes At Once

It came as no surprise that when BTS launched their new single “Dynamite” last Friday (August 21), it instantly went to No. 1 on iTunes. The band has never had a problem selling a track when they have some previously unheard treat to share with fans, and they are able to regularly rack up impressive sales counts.

In the days that followed, “Dynamite” continued to sell well in the U.S., and as they doled out new takes on the disco-pop tune, fans snapped up everything they could get…and they continue to do so, helping the band they love so much completely take over the iTunes charts of the bestselling tracks in the largest music market in the world.

Just yesterday, BTS released another two new versions of “Dynamite,” bringing the total number of editions of the catchy cut to half a dozen. In just the first week or so the cut was out, the South Korean superstars delivered both the original and the instrumental, then an acoustic recording and an EDM remix, and now both Tropical and Poolside takes, showing just how versatile the smash is.

After a short time, the six versions of “Dynamite” became bestsellers, and they all found their way into the top 10 on the U.S. iTunes chart at once. It’s not odd to see a star’s name appear in more than one spot in the upper reaches of the sales-only list, especially if they have a new album out, but for any one soloist or group to own half a dozen rungs inside the top 10 with different takes of the same cut at once is a major win for the band, and it’s possible that such a feat has never been accomplished before.

At one point on Friday (August 28), BTS claimed six of the top seven rungs on the iTunes U.S. chart, with only Blackpink and Selena Gomez’s joint single “Ice Cream” breaking up their incredibly successful run (at the time this writer looked, that tune was charting at No. 3). The septet’s “Dynamite,” the Tropical remix, the Poolside remix, the EDM remix, the Acoustic remix and the instrumental versions made homes at Nos. 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 and 7, respectively on the iTunes U.S. list.

Throughout the past week, BTS’s name appeared in the upper rungs on the iTunes charts (at one point they owned the highest four at once), and while the various versions of “Dynamite” rose and fell, the group largely didn’t give up control over the top four spaces, and their latest launches aren’t likely to vacate the top 10 very soon.
