BTS, Eminem, Harry Styles And Ed Sheeran: The 10 Biggest Albums In The U.K. In 2020 (So Far)

We’re only three months into 2020, but that’s still a quarter of the year, and by now some albums have moved enough copies that they are sure to end up on the final rankings of the most popular releases when the year concludes. The Official Charts Company has revealed its list of the most-consumed full-lengths in the U.K., and while it’s primarily filled by holdovers from 2019, there are a few projects that have already proved to be extremely popular in the past few months.

Lewis Capaldi’s Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent holds at No. 1, where it ended 2019. The most popular release last year has moved another 205,000 equivalent units in 2020 and almost every week it ranks somewhere inside the top three. His massive debut is followed by Stormzy’s Heavy is the Head, which came out in very late 2019 and reached the top spot on the albums chart in early 2020.

Eminem’s Music to Be Murdered By is the highest-ranking and most-consumed album released this year, and it comes in at No. 3 with 110,000 equivalent units. Rounding out the top five are two efforts that dominated the globe last year, Billie Eilish’s debut full-length When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? and Ed Sheeran’s celebrity-packed No.6 Collaborations Project.

Eminem’s Music to Be Murdered By is joined by two other 2020 releases inside the top 10, as both J Hus’ Big Conspiracy and BTS’s Map of the Soul: 7 have already moved enough units to rank among the most successful launches of this year.

This ranking will surely look very different next January, but names like Lewis Capaldi, Eminem and Stormzy will almost surely still be present.
