BTS, Got7, Shinee, Sunmi And Monsta X’s I.M: Essential Moves On This Week’s World Songs Chart

Some weeks there are only a few new entrants on the World Digital Song Sales chart, while at other times, it seems like everyone who could find their way to that tally has released something exciting. This period fits squarely under the latter description, as there are plenty of just-dropped tunes and returning favorites to discuss.

Here are five tracks whose moves are worth noting on this week’s World Digital Song Sales chart.

No. 1 – BTS – “Inner Child”

BTS are back at No. 1 on the World Digital Song Sales chart this week with yet another leader, only this single isn’t exactly new. “Inner Child” re-enters the ranking in the peak position, reaching the spot for the first time months after it was released. The tune is the fifth champion from the band’s Map of the Soul: 7 album, which came out last spring.

BTS have now collected a record-extending 26 No. 1 hits on the World Digital Song Sales chart, and they are surely going to score more whenever they have new music to deliver…or perhaps whenever their legion of fans decide to send another album cut to the throne.

No. 3 – Got7 – “Encore”

Got7, one of the most successful boy bands in K-pop history, is back on the World Digital Song Sales chart, and they came very close to landing their first No. 1 hit. New cut “Encore,” which so far doesn’t appear to be attached to any larger project (though that could change at any time), arrives at No. 3, granting the act their nineteenth top 10 on the tally.

No. 8 – Shinee – “Don’t Call Me”

As Got7 hit the top 10 on the World Digital Song Sales chart for the nineteenth time, another beloved K-pop male vocal band nearly catch up with another big hit. Shinee start their single “Don’t Call Me” at No. 8, entering the highest tier on the list for the eighteenth time. “Don’t Call Me” serves as the title track from the group’s new full-length, which opens at No. 7 on the World Albums tally.

No. 9 – I.M – “God Damn”

Best known as one of the members of the incredibly successful K-pop (and just…pop) outfit Monsta X, I.M makes a splash this week on the World Digital Song Sales chart on his own with a slew of hit songs. The musician debuts five tracks from his first solo album Duality on the ranking, with “God Damn” opening inside the top 10, at No. 9.

Further down the chart come “Howlin’” (No. 17), “Happy to Die” (No. 19), “Deadhead (Flower-ed)” (No. 20) and “Burn” (No. 21).

No. 13 – Sunmi – “Tail”

Former Wonder Girls member and K-pop pioneer Sunmi also appears on this week’s World Digital Song Sales chart with more than one new tune, which already makes her one of the biggest winners this frame. The star’s new tracks “Tail” and “What The Flower” arrive at Nos. 13 and 18, respectively. The two tunes were packaged together on a release simply called Tail.

With her two new placements on the World Digital Song Sales chart, Sunmi pushes past double-digit placements on the tally, upping her solo career count from nine to 11.
