BTS Improves Their Standing On The World Songs Chart Just Before Bang Bang Con

As fans prepared to tune in and watch BTS’s online concert event Bang Bang Con this past weekend, many of them rushed to listen to their favorite songs from the K-pop outfit to prepare to sing along. The current Billboard charts reflect activity that ended last Thursday evening, so while the group’s special showing of past concert footage hadn’t taken place yet, their legion of fans were already excited to take part, and all of their buying and streaming activity in advance of the convention (of sorts) has helped the band improve on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart.

On the newly-refreshed world-only chart, BTS occupies 50% more spots than last frame, upping their count from half a dozen to nine of the 25 available rungs. Included in that sum are three tracks that advance from last frame, three that re-enter the race, one that remains steady from last time around and two that are unfortunately pushed down.

The group’s two highest-ranking songs both climb from where they ranked last week, with “My Time” stepping up from No. 10 to No. 3 while “Filter” lifts from just outside the top 10 to No. 7. Further down, “Black Swan” pushes from No. 18 to No. 15.

A trio of tunes are lucky enough to find space on the World Digital Song Sales chart which did not last week, although none of them are brand new to the ranking. Two cuts featured on the band’s most recent album Map of the Soul: 7 return to the tally, with “We Are Bulletproof : The Eternal” reappearing at No. 12 while “Louder Than Bombs” returns at No. 24. Just above that last title, former hit single “Make It Right” with pop singer Lauv is also back at No. 23 in its thirtieth turn on the ranking.

Lead Map of the Soul: Persona single “Boy with Luv” with Halsey is the only BTS title that’s currently steady from where it was last frame, holding at No. 13 as it hits one full year on the World Digital Song Sales chart.

Both “On,” which served as the lead single from Map of the Soul: 7 and “UGH!,” which was quickly identified as a favorite on the same tracklist by fans, dip from last turn, falling to Nos. 8 and 20, respectively.

Chances are that after 50 million people tuned in to watch at least some part of Bang Bang Con, BTS will perform even better on a number of Billboard rankings next frame, and they may gain even more ground on the World Digital Song Sales chart.
