BTS Is The First Act To Chart Multiple No. 1 Hits On Billboard’s New Global Chart

BTS rules over the current edition of Billboard’s Global 200 chart, the ranking of the most-consumed individual tracks in the world every frame. The group joins newcomer Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo at No. 1, as the three musical acts see their collaborative smash “Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)” shoot right to the top for the first time.

With another leader to their credit on the recently-established ranking, BTS has become the first-ever name to land at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 more than once, which is just one more piece of evidence that the septet is the most popular musical act on the planet at the moment.

BTS first climbed to the peak position on the Billboard Global 200 just two weeks ago, when their solo venture “Dynamite” ruled. The band’s disco-pop cut was the second-ever champion, following Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s “WAP,” which inaugurated the list and which held atop the tally for a pair of frames.

“Dynamite” replaced “WAP” in first place, but not for long, as the insanely catchy duet between two of the most successful women in hip-hop at the moment regained control over the ranking, as their joint smash returned to No. 1 for one more stretch.

Now, “Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)” has replaced “WAP,” with BTS grabbing the highest spot from Cardi B and Stallion for the second time.

Billboard only introduced its Global 200 chart a month ago, and thus far there have only been three No. 1 hits. It’s not surprising that there aren’t several acts who have managed more than one leader, but since the ranking is still so new, it is impressive than any one name has reached the summit several times.

BTS is bound to be joined in this feat by many other artists in the coming weeks and months, but they will always be known as the first to rule several times. With a new album coming in about a month, they may soon collect a third ruler, perhaps becoming the first to manage that as well.
