BTS Own Half Of The Top 10 On The World Albums Chart

Unsurprisingly to those who are even vaguely aware of how successful BTS are these days, the band’s new release BE opens at No. 1 on a number of Billboard charts. The title kicks off its time on the Billboard 200, the Top Album Sales and the World Albums rankings as high as a project can climb, and it could easily hold atop the latter ranking for a little while.

BE launching at No. 1 would be enough to certify this week as a huge one for BTS, but as is typically the case, the South Korean band occupies quite a bit more real estate on the tally they have come to rule many, many times before.

This frame, BTS fill half of all the spots inside the top 10 on the World Albums chart. Beyond just the highest tier on that tally, the band claims roughly half of the rungs on the ranking for themselves, with some titles pushing well past 100 weeks on the ladder.

As BE opens at No. 1 (giving BTS their eleventh chart-topper on the World Albums ranking and their fourteenth top 10 effort), four other releases by the same outfit take up space inside the loftiest arena, with just one finding its way back. Map of the Soul: 7, which took over the planet earlier in 2020, is steady at No. 3, while Love Yourself: Answer, perhaps their most successful release yet, is also a non-mover at No. 5.

Love Yourself: Her steps up and returns to the top 10 this frame, likely helped by BE’s immense popularity. That release improves from No. 13 to No. 7, which puts it just two spots ahead of Skool Luv Affair at No. 9. That older drop made its way to No. 3 earlier this year as it was finally re-released, meaning many fans could get their hands on it after waiting patiently for the opportunity to do so.

In addition to their five current top 10 titles, BTS also sit at Nos. 14 and 15, the lowest spaces on the World Albums chart, with two highly successful launches, Map of the Soul: Persona and Love Yourself: Tear. Those efforts are stationary from where they sat last period.

Here is where all seven of BTS’s full-lengths rank on this week’s World Albums chart.
