Cardi B, Pop Smoke, Megan Thee Stallion And Lil Tjay Send New Singles Into The U.K.’s Top 10

This week on the singles chart in the U.K., the top three spots contain the same songs as last frame, with absolutely no movement. Joel Corry and MNEK’s “Head & Heart” is steady at No. 1 for a fourth spin, Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo’s “Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)” holds at No. 2 and Nathan Dawe and KSI’s “Lighter” keeps at No. 3.

New at No. 4 is “WAP,” which stands for…well, you can look it up. The track is fronted by Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, two of the most successful female artists in the hip-hop world. The powerhouses take turns rapping about some decidedly adult topics to an incredibly catchy beat on a tune that appears to be the latest single from Cardi’s forthcoming sophomore album, which still doesn’t have a title or release date.

“WAP” is Cardi’s fifth top 10 in the U.K. and Stallion’s second. The track matches the former’s previously-set high point, while it misses reaching the latter’s peak position by just one space.

The next three cuts all dip just one rung each, with Harry Styles’ “Watermelon Sugar,” AJ Tracey and Mabel’s “West Ten” and Regard and Raye’s “Secrets” landing at Nos. 5, 6 and 7, respectively.

Pop Smoke is back inside the top 10 for just the second time with his Lil Tjay-assisted “Mood Swings,” which vaults from inside the top 20 to No. 8. The track is now the highest-charting effort for both acts, and it marks Smoke’s second posthumous smash, following “The Woo,” which lifted to No. 9 just a few weeks ago. Both tracks are featured on the hip-hop talent’s debut album Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon, which was released about half a year after his murder.

Two tracks that are non-movers from last period close out this week’s highest tier on the tally, with DJ Khaled and Drake’s “Greece” and Chris Brown and Young Thug’s “Go Crazy” holding at Nos. 9 and 10, respectively.
