Cuomo Says New York Has 66,000 Coronavirus Cases As Javits Center Hospital Becomes Operational

Topline: New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said in a Monday press conference that the state has 66,000 confirmed coronavirus cases, and that the Javits Center field hospital will begin accepting patients today, as the state continues to battle the nation’s number of COVID-19 cases.

  • Cuomo said the rate of doubling of cases is now at six days, as compared to doubling every two to five days, which means is a sign that the number is slowing.
