Cuomo said the state has expanded testing with over 700 sites statewide: “So many sites it doesn’t fit on the map.”
To show how testing works, Cuomo took one during the live broadcast.
A healthcare professional in full personal protective equipment administered a nasal swab test.
“You don’t have to be ‘New York Tough’ to take that test,” Cuomo said, repeating the mantra he uses to close his daily briefings. “You have to be smart, united, disciplined. You have to love yourself, your family, New Yorkers.”
Cuomo said the state has opened up who can get tested: anyone with COVID-19 symptoms, workers returning in the first phase of reopening, along with healthcare workers, first responders, nursing home staff, anyone who interacts with the public as part of their jobs, along with anyone who comes into contact with a COVID-19 infected person or is placed into precautionary self-quarantine.
