DaBaby Charts His Second No. 1 Album In Less Than A Year With ‘Blame It On Baby’

Hip-hop talent DaBaby is back in the Billboard 200’s penthouse with his new album Blame It on Baby, which easily debuts at No. 1. The set, the rapper’s third proper studio album, opens atop the list with 124,000 equivalent units shifted. That number is primarily comprised of streams, though 12,000 fans of the musician actually purchased the title.

Blame It on Baby is DaBaby’s second No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and his second in less than a full year. He first reached the top spot on the all-genre ranking of the most-consumed albums in the U.S. in September with Kirk, which also opened in the driver’s seat.

In addition to his two leaders, DaBaby has also reached the top 10 with his debut album Baby on Baby, which peaked at No. 7 in March 2019. The rapper has now released three complete albums in just over 12 months, which is an incredible level of output for any act.

Blame It on Baby was something of a surprise, as DaBaby only revealed the set was coming days before it was made available to buy and stream. The project was preceded by one single, “Find My Way,” which the musician shared alongside a big-budget video. That tune has peaked at No. 22 on the Hot 100, and there’s a very good chance that the tune will rise on the chart when it refreshes in short order.

It’s also very likely that DaBaby will add to his career count of placements on the all-genre tally, as several songs from Blame It on Baby will probably appear on the chart. He has already sent over 25 songs with his name attached to the ranking, and that sum is sure to climb.
