Every New Movie Coming To Netflix This Weekend

Each new month brings a fresh slate of movies to the biggest streaming platforms on the market. From Netflix to Amazon Prime to Hulu to—now—HBO Max, the options for at-home entertainment are growing and growing with each passing month.

And each passing weekend. In addition to the bevy of movies added to Netflix’s library on June 1, the world’s most popular streaming platform will continue to add new movies to its lineup every Friday.

And it’s no different today, when several new movies became available—with even more coming as the weekend carries on. Here are the newest movies streaming on Netflix:

Lady Bird

Nominated for five Academy Awards, this film from Greta Gerwig—who is one of five women to ever be nominated for an Oscar for Best Director—centers on a nurse who works to keep her family afloat financially after her husband loses his job. The “Lady Bird” is her daughter, Christine (played by Saorise Ronan), an artistically inclined 17-year-old who has a strained relationship with her mother.

The movie stars Ronan, Timothée Chalamet, Laurie Metcalf, Tracy Letts, Lucas Hedges, Beanie Feldstein, Stephen McKinley Henderson and Lois Smith.

This movie is available to stream today.

Killing Gunther

Oh, you thought Arnold Schwarzenegger wasn’t acting anymore? Well, he’s actually remained fairly active and appeared in several films over the past few years—including Killing Gunther, an independent film directed by SNL’s Taran Killam. The film (which never even had a limited run in U.S. theaters) follows a group of eccentric assassins who wish to kill the world’s greatest hitman: Gunther—played by Schwarzenegger himself.

The movie also stars Killam, Bobby Moynihan, Hannah Simone and Cobie Smulders.

This movie is available to stream today.

Breaking the Bee

Have you ever watched the Scripps National Spelling Bee? If you have, then you’ve undoubtedly been blown away by young students’ ability to spell seemingly impossible-to-spell words. If you want to get behind the scenes of those students’ training, then check out Breaking the Bee, which follows four hopeful Scripps competitors’ journeys as they compete.

Breaking the Bee is directed by Sam Rega.

This movie is available to stream today.

The Last Days of American Crime

A brand new release from Netflix, this thriller focuses on a trio of bank robbers who plan the “heist of the century” before the government turns on a mind-altering signal that will end all criminal behavior.

The Last Days of American Crime stars Édgar Ramírez, Anna Brewster, Michael Pitt and Sharlto Copley. It is directed by Olivier Megaton.

This movie is available to stream today.

The Night Clerk

This 2020 crime/drama stars Tye Sheridan—perhaps best known for playing Cyclops in the X-Men reboots—who plays a hotel clerk who becomes the main suspect after a murder occurs during his shift. He then makes it his mission to protect another hotel guest he believes will be murdered next.

Along with Sheridan, The Night Clerk stars Ana de Armas, Helen Hunt, John Leguizamo and Jacque Gray. The movie was directed by Michael Cristofer.

This movie is available to stream Saturday, June 6.
