(G)I-Dle, Monsta X, A.C.E., Victon And MCND: Essential Moves On This Week’s World Songs Chart

2021 is just getting started, but already a handful of new acts have found their way to the World Digital Song Sales chart, and it looks like this year may be filled with brand new names rising the ranks and standing out from the crowd.

Here are five tracks whose moves are worth noting on this week’s World Digital Song Sales chart.

No. 4 – A.C.E. – “Fav Boyz”

For years  now, A.C.E. have been grinding, building their brand both in their home country of South Korea and in the United States. This week, they hit a new high on the World Digital Song Sales chart with their single “Fav Boyz,” which earns the title of being the highest-ranking debut of the period. The tune opens at No. 4, becoming the group’s first top 10 on the tally.

No. 8 – (G)I-dle – “Hwaa”

“Hwaa” isn’t yet connected to a forthcoming EP or album, but it has already become a big hit for (G)I-dle and, it appears, one that helps them hit an important milestone. The South Korean pop group has now seemingly scored 10 top 10 hits on the World Digital Song Sales chart, with this latest single becoming their first of 2021, but surely not their last.

No. 10 – Monsta X – “Nobody Else”

Monsta X never let much time go by between big wins on the World Digital Song Sales chart, and they are ready to keep that trend going in the new year, as their latest single “Nobody Else” opens at No. 10. The track is their fourteenth career placement inside the uppermost area on the list, and it starts 2021 off right for the band, who have found success recording in Korean, Japanese and English.

No. 21 – Victon – “What I Said”

Victon, another rising South Korean boy band, have been together for several years, but they have only just recently released their debut album, titled Voice: The Future is Now. One track from that project, the single “What I Said,” finds its way to the World Digital Song Sales chart this frame, and it may very well be the act’s first appearance on the global tally.

No. 25 – MCND – “Crush”

Just as Victon scores what could be their first World Digital Song Sales smash, only a few spaces down, another all-male vocal group from the same country have replicated that introductory success this week. MCND debut their track “Crush” at No. 25, meaning it only narrowly found its way to the multi-genre list.
