Good Morning America’s George Stephanpolous Positive For Coronavirus, ‘Feeling Great’

Topline: Novel coronavirus is everywhere—with over 1.2 million positive Covid-19 cases around the world; this is a list of well-known individuals who’ve experienced COVID-19.

• George Stephanopoulos: The Good Morning America anchor and former Bill Clinton White House Communications Director announced he tested positive for COVID-19 on April 13, after his wife had the virus, though says he totally asymptomatic: ““I’ve never had a fever, never had chills, never had a headache, never had a cough, never had shortness of breath,” he said on Good Morning America. “I’m feeling great.”
• Rand Paul: The Republican Kentucky Senator became the first Senate member to announce positive results for COVID-19 with a Twitter statement on March 22. As of April 7, he’s negative for the virus and is serving as a hospital volunteer in his hometown of Bowling Green, Kentucky, according to his Twitter.

• J.K. Rowling: The Harry Potter author, who earned $92 million in 2019, announced via Twitter on April 6 that she had “all symptoms” of COVID-19 and is now “fully recovered,” though she was never tested.

• Pink: On April 4, the singer announced via Instagram that she and her three-year-old son had tested positive and recovered from the virus, saying she made two $500,000 donations: one to the Temple University Hospital Emergency Fund and to the City of Los Angeles Mayor’s Emergency COVID-19 Crisis Fund.

• Adam Schlesinger: The lauded songwriter died on April 1, 2020, at 52, due to complications from the coronavirus. Schlesinger cofounded the band Fountains of Wayne in 1995, which is best known for its 2003 hit “Stacy’s Mom.” Recently, Schlesinger was a songwriter on the CW’s musical comedy series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and won an Emmy last year for his work on the show.
• Chris Cuomo: The CNN news anchor and brother of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced via Twitter that he tested positive for COVID-19. “In his job, he’s combative and argumentative . . . but that’s his job, that’s not who he is. He’s a really sweet, beautiful guy, and he’s my best friend,” said Governor Cuomo in Tuesday’s press conference.

• Jeff Shell: The CEO of NBCUniversal—who took over the executive role of the nearly $34 billion entertainment giant on January 1, 2020—announced he had tested positive for COVID-19 in an email to his staff on March 26, 2020.
• Prince Charles: The 71-year-old heir to the British throne tested positive for novel coronavirus on March 25, 2020, and self-isolated at Balmoral, the Scottish royal estate, according to a Clarence House statement. His last public engagement was March 12, 2020.
• Harvey Weinstein: The recently convicted Hollywood mogul, who is serving a 23-year prison sentence for rape and sexual assault near Buffalo, New York, was announced positive for coronavirus on March 22 and is doing time in isolation.
• Andy Cohen: Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen announced to his 3.7 million Instagram followers that he had tested positive for COVID-19 on March 21, 2020, with a selfie and message thanking medical professionals.

• Prince Albert II of Monaco: Tested positive on March 19, according to a statement from the Palace parlayed to CNN.
• Kevin Durant: The basketball star turned investor mogul announced he had COVID-19 on March 17, 2020.
• Arielle Charnas: The social media influencer announced to her 1.3 million followers that she was experiencing symptoms of coronavirus. She tested positive on March 18 and documented the experience on Instagram.

• Idris Elba: The actor best known for his roles in TV shows The Wire and Luther and for playing the eponymous lead role in Nelson Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, announced on Twitter that he tested positive for COVID-19. Though he bore no symptoms, he came into contact with someone who tested positive, and thus the actor sought the test, according to CNN. 

• Kristofer Hivju: Perhaps best known as Tormund Giantsbane, the Game of Thrones star tested positive for COVID-19 on March 17, 2020, with an Instagram post:

• Olga Kurylenko: The Bond girl Kurylenko tested positive for the virus on March 16.
•  Donovan Mitchell: A Utah Jazz teammate of early COVID-19 victim Rudy Gobert, announced that he had tested positive for the virus, despite experiencing no symptoms.
• Sophie Gregoire Trudeau: The Canadian Prime Minister’s wife tested positive for novel coronavirus on March 12, and Justin Trudeau announced he would go into 14 days of self-isolation to prevent the spread.
• Francis Suarez: The mayor of Miami announced that he tested positive for novel coronavirus on March 13, and posted this opinion piece on the New York Times, discussing his isolation from his wife and children and decision to shut restaurants, nightclubs, etc. amid the coronavirus crisis, saying, “While this may seem inconvenient in the short term, it can make all the difference in the long run. We must practice social isolation now to flatten the curve.”
• Rudy Gobert:  The Utah Jazz player tested positive for COVID-19 on March 11, a key factor in the NBA’s hiatus.
• Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson: Both tested positive on March 11, 2020, becoming the first Hollywood A-listers to confirm they had the virus.
