Harry Styles And Pop Smoke Climb As The Killers Debut Their New Album At No. 1 In The U.K.

The Killers rule the U.K. albums chart for the sixth time with their new set Imploding The Mirage, which arrives months after it was initially scheduled to drop, as the band decided to push it back in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Behind the Brandon Flowers-fronted band, two other brand new releases find their way into the top 10 upon arrival while a handful of popular sets rise slightly inside the highest tier.

Up from No. 4 to No. 2 once again is Pop Smoke’s Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon. The rapper’s posthumous debut album started in the runner-up rung and peaked there several frames ago, and since then it has continued to hold on inside the uppermost area on the ranking. Sadly, the title hasn’t managed to break through and claim the throne for even one turn, at least not yet.

Behind Smoke comes Taylor Swift’s most recent leader Folklore, which dips from No. 2 to No. 3.

The second-loftiest debut this week comes from synth-pop pioneers Erasure, who see their latest effort The Neon open at No. 4. The set, their tenth top 10 in the U.K., is now their highest-charting project in a quarter of a century, proving that they are still immensely successful in the nation.

Steady at No. 5 is one-time leader Juice WRLD’s Legends Never Die.

The third and final debut inside the top 10 this time around comes from rising talent Jamie Webster, who starts his first full-length We Get By at No. 6. The English singer-songwriter has yet to land a hit single, but he has a large enough fan base to reach the highest highs on the chart with his new project.

Up next is Lewis Capaldi’s unstoppable Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, which lifts to No. 7. Just after that immensely successful set comes Dua Lipa’s Future Nostalgia, which declines in status to No. 8, though it may gain ground next time around, as the pop star just released a remix album that ties into her recent LP.

Harry Styles pushes his sophomore album Fine Line from No. 10 to No. 9, making room for last frame’s ruler, Biffy Clyro’s A Celebration of Endings. That title falls from first place to tenth, barely earning a second turn inside the top 10.
