Here Are The Top 10 Shows That Dominated Netflix In June

For a long time, we could only speculate on which shows and movies were the most-streamed pieces of content on Netflix. Yes: we knew Tiger King was popular because of its social media presence. And of course: Extraction was destined to dominate streaming numbers with Chris Hemsworth at the helm. But before 2020, we truly had no idea how well these projects actually performed.

But thanks to the introduction of Netflix’s Top 10 feature, we can now track how well each show and movie is performing. And considering that Netflix is the world’s most popular streaming platform, it means that any show dominating the Netflix charts is likely dominating the entire streaming realm.

To help with this, I developed a simple system that allows us to not just track which movies and shows are commanding Netflix day by day, but also week by week, month by month, and year by year. (Note: that linked story outlines the point system I’ll use in this article.) With this formula, we can start to track Netflix’s streaming numbers just like we would track box office performance.

Which makes today an exciting day. For the first time, I’ve been able to calculate which movies and shows dominated an entire month. This article will provide more insight into Netflix’s ten most viral shows in June and how many points each of those shows earned.

Note: I will also include where each show ranks in the “All-Time Top 10.” This is a grander system that ranks every show that has appeared on Netflix’s Top 10 since the feature was introduced back in late February.

10. F is for Family – 56 points

F is for Family debuted on the Daily Top 10 back on June 12 in the #4 position—which is where it would peak. Bill Burr’s animated show would remain in that #4 spot for five days before slowly working its way out of the Daily Top 10 altogether on June 22.

The show just barely eked out Alexa & Katie—a show that peaked much higher in the No. 2 position on the Daily Top 10, but couldn’t match the kind of longevity that F is for Family owned.

On the All-Time Top 10, F is for Family ranks in 37th place.

9. Queen Eye – 61 points

As popular as Queer Eye seems to be in the social media sphere, I was surprised to see that the reality show didn’t rank more highly in the June charts. The new season of Queer Eye premiered in the #5 position on June 5 and peaked in the #4 spot two days later. The show then slowly made its way off the list and saw its last day in the Daily Top 10 on June 16.

On the All-Time Top 10, Queer Eye ranks in 34th place.

8. Sweet Magnolias – 65 points

Sweet Magnolias has been one of Netflix’s biggest dark horses. The show debuted back in March when it hit the #4 position on the Daily Top 10. It would then own a four-day run in the #1 spot between May 23-26. During May, the show would rack up 116 points and rank as the #5 show for the month.

But Sweet Magnolias didn’t stop there. While the show never ranked higher than the #7 spot after June 5, the show would make a total 20 appearances on the Daily Top 10 in the month of June.

On the All-Time Top 10, Sweet Magnolias ranks in 11th place.

7. Fuller House – 89 points

The final season of Fuller House premiered on June 2, which is when the show hit its peak position of #3. The show could never quite top the frontrunners of June, but did manage to rank in the top five on ten different days. The show also had longevity and remained in the Daily Top 10 for 23 of the 30 days in June.

On the All-Time Top 10, Fuller House ranks in 27th place.

6. The Order – 117 points

The Order got the short end of the stick in June. When the second season of the show premiered back on June 18, it entered the Daily Top 10 in the #2 position behind 13 Reasons Why. The next day, Floor is Lava took over the #1 position—and held onto it for the rest of the month. And the entire time, The Order remained in the #2 spot. That meant 13 straight days in second place.

On the All-Time Top 10, The Order ranks in 20th place.

5. Floor is Lava – 120 points

If Floor is Lava had premiered earlier in the month, then this list would look a bit different. The game show ranked #1 on the Daily Top 10 for 12 straight days, between June 19 (when it debuted) and June 30. That made it the third show on Netflix to ever accomplish such a feat.

On the All-Time Top 10, Floor is Lava ranks in 18th place.

4. Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich – 122 points

Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich debuted in the #1 spot on May 27. And while the docu-series would never regain that #1 position during June, the show ranked highly enough on 19 of the 30 June days to muster together 122 points.

On the All-Time Top 10, Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich ranks in 12th place.

3. Avatar: The Last Airbender – 164 points

Based on the kind of run Avatar: The Last Airbender has had thus far, it wouldn’t be too surprising for the beloved animated hit to become the most-streamed show of the Netflix Top 10 era. The Nickelodeon show premiered on Netflix back on May 18 in the #1 spot. Since, Avatar has remained on the Top 10 every single day, making it 44 consecutive days on the charts—something only three other shows have done.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is also the only non-Netflix-produced show to appear on the June Top 10.

On the All-Time Top 10, Avatar: The Last Airbender ranks in 5th place.

2. Space Force – 217 points

Similar to Avatar, Space Force has experienced incredible longevity since premiering on May 29. The show would hold out in the #1 spot for seven straight days, which is something only four other Netflix shows have done. Space Force would also rank in the top three for the first 17 days of June.

On the All-Time Top 10, Space Force ranks in 7th place.

1. 13 Reasons Why – 223 points

Believe it or not, the final season of 13 Reasons Why didn’t secure the #1 spot on the June Top 10 until the final couple days of the month. The beloved show can thank its 14-day streak at #1, which is second only to Tiger King (which saw an insane 27 straight days in the top spot between March and April). 13 Reasons Why has remained on the Daily Top 10 every day since its latest season’s premiere on June 5.

On the All-Time Top 10, 13 Reasons Why ranks in 9th place.
