How To Watch Or Live Stream UFC On ESPN+ 41: Felder Vs. Dos Anjos

Former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos faces Paul Felder in the main event of tonight’s UFC on ESPN+ 41 fight card. Dos Anjos, who has fought at welterweight since 2017, meets Felder in a 155-pound matchup. Dos Anjos hopes the bout will put him back on the path toward another lightweight title run.

Dos Anjos, who lost the lightweight crown to Eddie Alvarez in 2016, spoke to MMA Fighting about the move from 170 pounds to 155.

“It’s a matter of trying to reinvent myself,” dos Anjos said. “I moved up to welterweight, I had a good run. I got really close to being double champ. I beat top guys in the welterweight division. I had a good run. I fought for the title, but unfortunately, I lost, and then I lost again and I lost to (Kamaru) Usman and to Leon (Edwards) and the last one to (Michael) Chiesa. Sometimes you have to step out of your comfort zone.

“I spoke to Jose Aldo – he came to California – and he told me how much he felt good at 135. I got in touch with him and he put me in contact with his doctor in Brazil. In March of this year, I traveled to Brazil to meet the doctor, and I’m investing in my career. She said if we do good work and a good job we can make it happen.”

Felder accepted the fight earlier this week and he sees the bout as an opportunity to get the fights that have avoided him.

“I know I’m nearing the end of my career soon,” Felder told ESPN. “This, I think, it’s win-win for me because if I go in there and I can finish and beat RDA, a former champ, then it gives me a lot of selling points to be getting these bigger fights which seem to have been eluding me at the top five of the lightweight division here in the UFC. How do you not give me something big after this if I go in there after stepping up? And, if it doesn’t go my way, then I saved the day. I’m going in there to try to win, so we’ll see.”
