Inspired By The Female Form —Lingerie Label Fleur Of England Celebrates 20 Years

Celebrating 20 years of delicate femininity, Fleur of England was established by Fleur Turner, and in this time has built a reputation for offering graceful and exquisitely made lingerie.

With an acute attention to detail, each garment is hand-designed by the founder herself, and then fitted in-house to ensure both comfort and form.

When perfected, the pieces are produced in Portugal using the finest materials from Chantilly lace, and sumptuous charmeuse to lustrous silk and floral embroidery. The result? Utterly gorgeous lingerie that is romantic, flirty, playful and oh-so-luxurious.

Fleur discusses her 20 years in the lingerie business.

Felicity Carter: How did you find yourself in lingerie design?

Fleur Turner: I can’t remember not wanting to be a lingerie designer, I have always had a fascination with delicate fabrics such as lace and silk and how feminine and beautiful they are. I used to cut up my mothers old clothes and make dresses out of them for my dolls, they were always silk and lace!

FC: How would you sum up the aesthetic of the label?

FT: Our ethos has always been to create a world of modern sensuality, so the aesthetic is a balance between strength and femininity – hand-designed, bespoke embroideries on sheer tulle and timeless silk and lace pieces for an unrivalled opulence.

FC: What are the core values of your business?

FT: Ever since I started my label 20 years ago our core values have remained the same, to create beautifully fitting lingerie that gives women exquisite confidence, fit and craftsmanship is at the centre of everything we do. We are small, niche business with only 8 of us in the company and recently we have been awarded the mark of positive luxury as our ethical ethos becomes stronger and the brand becomes more environmentally friendly.

FC: What do you love most about your job?

FT: Designing, creating a story that I translate into a collection and making it come to life. It’s that gasp of of delight that my customers have when they see the hidden details and messaging through the garments and the story telling. I also love collaborating with my team, I am very privileged to work with such an incredible group of ladies.

FC: Do you have a particular women in mind when you are designing?

FT: We have 4 customer profiles for our loyal customers , I do design lingerie with them in mind, but sometimes its more about the emotional connection, the mood of that day, does she feel strong and seductive, or romantic and pretty?

FC: What collection are you working on at the moment and what is inspiring it?

FT: All my spring summer 21 development is now on hold due to Covid – 19 so we are currently working on our signature lines that are timeless and elegant.

FC: What are your favorite materials to work with at the moment?

Always silk satin Lycra and my bespoke embroidery on invisible tulle.

FC: What has been your proudest moment to date?

FT: Introducing my mother to Princess Ann when I won an award.

FC: Where can we buy?

FT: You can find all of our collections at FleurofEngland.com, or we are also stocked globally in a number of boutiques and online retailers.
