Is BTS Already Planning Another Online Concert Event?

Fans of the vocal group BTS had quite the weekend, as they were treated to not one, not two, and not even three, but eight concert videos from the band’s past, and it was all given to them for free by the band and their management company BigHit. The entire event, titled Bang Bang Con, was incredibly popular and it went over very well, and it seems that while the run of shows wrapped just hours ago, the seven-member outfit is already planning something else for their legion of followers.

According to several reports, Bang Bang Con ended with a message that popped up on the screens of everyone still watching. That missive claimed that “In June, BTS will return to ARMY’s rooms once again,” and nothing more.

There has been no new information shared in the hours since Bang Bang Con concluded, and chances are BTS will keep everybody guessing until the summer months are much closer. While they didn’t outright tell fans that there will be another edition of this online convention of sorts, many are already expecting something similar to take place once June rolls around.

This is the latest tease from BTS in just a week or so that has fans of the band, collectively known as ARMYs, very excited for the future. Not long ago, group member RM revealed that they are already thinking of their next album, and though they apparently haven’t started writing or recording, there’s a good chance it will be out by the end of the year. If the septet wasn’t prepared to stick to that timeline, they probably wouldn’t have mentioned it at all.

Bag Bang Con, which took place this past Saturday and Sunday (April 18 and 19) and featured hours of concert footage and other fun moments from the most popular Korean artists on the planet, was a massive success by essentially any metric. The program was watched by over 50 million people throughout the weekend, with over two million tuning in at one time.

As fans everywhere are stuck inside due to the spread of the coronavirus (which also forced BTS to cancel their South Korean stadium shows and reschedule the North American leg of their world tour, which was slated to take place this spring and summer), another big giveaway by the band would be more than welcome by their young fan base, who can’t get enough of their content at any time, let alone while they are largely bored and trapped indoors.
