John Legend, Barbra Streisand To Host Virtual Fundraiser For Joe Biden

Musicians Barbra Streisand and John Legend are set to headline a virtual fundraiser for Joe Biden on June 11, in an effort to raise money before the upcoming fall election.

“A Fabulous Evening with Vice President Joe Biden” will aim to raise funds for the Biden Victory Fund, a committee dedicated to raising money for the Biden Campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

Additonal special guests will be announced at a later date.

Both Streisand and Legend have frequently headlined or performed at events for presidential candidates over the years.

Streisand performed at a LGBT-focused fundraiser for Hillary Clinton in 2016, and sang at a fundraiser for former President Barack Obama in 2008.

Legend campaigned for Sen. Elizabeth Warren at multiple events in South Carolina before Warren dropped out of the presidential race in March. He also played an Ohio club show for Clinton during her 2016 campaign, and headlined a rally for Obama in Iowa in 2007.

According to the online invitation form, tickets range from $2,800 per guest, $5,600 per supporter, $41,100 per sponsor, and $100,000 for those who want to be named host. The event will be held at 8:00 p.m. EDT / 5:00 p.m. PDT.

The announcement follows tonight’s star-studded virtual fundraiser for Biden moderated by “The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg. Musical performances will feature Sheryl Crow, Rufus Wainwright, David Crosby, and Joe Walsh.

Biden and the DNC raised more than $60 million in April, while President Donald Trump and the Republican National Committee raised slightly more at about $61.7 million, according to The New York Times. Biden and the DNC entered into a joint fund-raising deal in April, after Biden became the DNC’s presumptive presidential nominee.
