K-Pop Stars SuperM Announce Their Comeback With New Single ‘100’ And Debut Album ‘Super One’

SuperM shocked many in the American music industry last year when they debuted their first collection together, a self-titled EP, at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. In doing so, they became just the second musical act from South Korea to rule the most important albums chart in the largest music market in the world, following BTS.

Now, less than a year since they dominated the ranking and made history with their first release, the K-pop super group is looking to repeat their success with not another EP, but their first full-length.

Just moments ago, SuperM announced the dates for their highly-anticipated comeback, which is slated to begin much sooner than anybody expected. The group is planning on releasing their first single this year, the simply-titled “100” on Friday, August 14.

Not long after that single has made its mark on the charts, the seven-member vocal band will return with a second promotional cut, “Tiger Inside,” which has a street date of Tuesday, September 1.

These two singles will be followed shortly by SuperM’s appropriately-named debut album Super One, which will arrive on Friday, September 25.

Beyond these titles and dates, not much information was shared by the band’s team, and fans may have to wait until the music arrives to learn who was involved and what direction the septet has decided to go in for their second chapter.

SuperM was created in 2019 and includes a number of musicians who have already spent years in the K-pop industry in other groups. The seven members were previously in successful vocal outfits like Shinee, Exo, NCT 127 and WayV, but they found an even larger following in the United States once they all came together to form a new act.

Their EP SuperM shockingly beat fellow newcomer Summer Walker’s debut album Over It to the top of the Billboard 200, though it didn’t manage to send even one track onto the Hot 100 (lead single “Jopping” did rise to No. 1 on the World Digital Song Sales tally). The band will surely be looking to land a hit single this time around, and there’s plenty of reason to believe they’ll do so.
