Kanye West Pens Letter On Chicago Gap Store, Teases ‘Spaceship’ Video

store on Michigan Avenue in Chicago, West pens a heartfelt letter to his hometown, Chi City.

As he stated in the message, Ye reflects back to a time in his life before fame, recalling that he would shop at this particular Gap store in Magnificent Mile. 

The massive mural comes shortly after the announcement of his 10-year partnership with Gap Friday morning (June 26). The line is set to produce “modern, elevated basics for men, women and kids at an accessible price point,” according to an official statement provided by both parties. Forbes previously reported that shares of Gap surged nearly 40% after the announcement. 

As referenced in his 2004 song “Spaceship,” Ye suggests “let’s go back, back to the Gap,” revealing in the lyrics that he used to work at the clothing store in high school.

Today (June 29th), he teased on Twitter that an unreleased “Spaceship” music video is on its way alongside GLC and Consequence. The track is from his 2004 debut studio album, The College Dropout. 

In his most recent social media post on Twitter, Yeezy also teased brand new music with the arrival of a new song, “Wash Us in the Blood” from his forthcoming album, God’s Country, which is expected to drop soon. No official date has been revealed.
