Katy Perry, Demi Lovato And Lil Uzi Vert: 5 Major Moves On This Week’s U.K. Singles Chart

As Dua Lipa once again proves that she is one of the most successful and exciting pop stars in recent memory in the U.K., another tried-and-true favorite pushes a new song onto the chart, though it probably won’t live there for very long. In between those two popular women, hip-hop star Lil Uzi Vert doubles his career count of top 40 successes in the country with a pair of new wins.

Here’s a look at five of the most important moves on this week’s U.K. singles chart.

No. 8 – Dua Lipa – “Physical”

Just a few weeks before she drops her highly-anticipated sophomore album Future Nostalgia, Dua Lipa scores another top 10 hit in the U.K. with her latest single “Physical.” The track, the second proper promotional tune from the forthcoming project, rises to No. 8 this time around, becoming her eighth cut to step up into the uppermost tier.

No. 35 – Demi Lovato – “I Love Me”

Demi Lovato is getting ready to release some sort of musical project, though she’s been fairly quiet when it comes to what it will be and when it will arrive. Following in the emotional footsteps of her recent drop “Anyone,” the powerful singer debuts her new cut “I Love Me” at No. 35 in the U.K., earning her thirteenth top 40 smash in the country.

No. 36 – Lil Uzi Vert – “Baby Pluto”

As he lands his first top 10 album in the U.K. with Eternal Atake (which kicks off at No. 3), a trio of tunes featured on the set make their way to the songs list, with two debuting inside the top 40, becoming instant (if possibly short-lived) hits.

Leading the way among all Lil Uzi Vert tracks comes “Baby Pluto,” which enters the race at No. 36. Just one spot below, “P2” also appears for the first time. Further down the ranking, the previously-shared “That Way” vaults from No. 80 to No. 47. With his two brand new successful songs, Lil Uzi Vert has now collected just four top 40s.

No. 64 – Jhene Aiko & H.E.R. – “B.S.”

She may not have reached the top 10 in the U.K. with her album Chilombo, but Jhene Aiko does snag some big wins with the songs featured on her latest. Her collaboration with fellow R&B super talent H.E.R., the suggestively-titled “B.S.,” debuts at No. 64, becoming Aiko’s highest-charting track as a lead artist. 20 spots below, her solo cut “Pussy Fairy (OTW)” starts at No. 84.

No. 97 – Katy Perry – “Never Worn White”

Katy Perry used the music video for her new single “Never Worn White” to announce to the world that she is expecting her first child, and the baby bump helped the clip go viral (and the song along with it). The pop chart-topper’s latest track narrowly makes it to the U.K. songs list, breaking in at No. 97, a fairly low start for a tune that received widespread attention upon arrival.
