Kenny Rogers, the country music star who sold more than 100 million records, has died aged 81. Here are some statistics from his 60-year career, including earnings, big hits and little-known facts.

·   24 –the number of songs he sent to  No. 1 in the charts.

·   100 million – his record sales, which meant that the RIAA ranked him in the Top Ten Best Selling Male Solo Artists of All Time.

·   3 – number of Grammy awards. Also 19 American Music Awards, 11 People’s Choice Awards, eight Academy of Country Music Awards, six Country Music Association Awards (including the CMA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013) and the Artist of a Lifetime Award at the CMT Artists of the Year 2015 award show.

·   28 – The number of his Billboard Adult Contemporary Top 10 hits, the sixth-best all-time.

·   100 Million – the number of viewers of his five TV series spawned by the hit “The Gambler,” which starred Rogers himself as Brady Hawkes.

He was born into poverty but became an active businessman with interests in real estate and restaurants. In 2012 he was selling his elaborate lakeside estate outside Athens, Georgia.

He was also a photographer and shot a portrait of First Lady Hillary Clinton.
