Liam Gallagher And Jack Garratt Chart New Top 10 Albums In The U.K. While Lady Gaga Falls To No. 2

For the eleventh time in his career, rocker Liam Gallagher controls the albums chart in his home country, though this week is different for him. The musician’s new set MTV Unplugged (Live at Hull City Hall) opens atop the list, giving him his first live leader on the tally (and his third as a solo act).

Behind Gallagher, just one other new entry finds its way into the top 10 across the pond this week.

Down to No. 2 for the first time since entering the race weeks ago is Lady Gaga’s Chromatica, which is quickly shaping up to be one of the most successful pop albums of 2020. The set launched at No. 1 and held there for two frames, and it looks like its descent will be a slow one.

Due in part to a lack of major new releases taking up space close to the top of the chart, the next three titles all advance. Lewis Capaldi’s Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, Dua Lipa’s Future Nostalgia and Harry Styles’ Fine Line climb to Nos. 3, 4 and 5, respectively.

Down one rung to No. 6 is YouTuber and rapper KSI’s Dissimulation, followed by Elton John’s Diamonds at No. 7.

The second and only other new entrant inside the U.K. top 10 this week (after Gallagher) comes from multi-instrumentalist and electronic producer Jack Garratt, whose sophomore album Love Death & Dancing starts off at No. 8. The set follows his first full-length, Phase, which came out in 2016 and which peaked at No. 3.

Closing out the highest tier on the U.K. albums chart are Fleetwood Mac’s 50 Years – Don’t Stop, which returns to the top 10 by jumping from No. 12 to No. 9, and Ed Sheeran’s No.6 Collaborations Project, which is a non-mover at No. 10. That title is fast approaching its one-year anniversary, as it has now spent 49 frames on the list.
