Machine Gun Kelly Controls Half Of The Entire Alternative Songs Chart

In just the past few years, musician Machine Gun Kelly has made the switch from hip-hop to rock, and while many artists might see some of their fans fall away and move on, as those two styles aren’t often associated with one another, the transition hasn’t just gone well, it’s helped the man behind the new No. 1 album in the U.S., Tickets to My Downfall, rule like never before.

On this week’s edition of Billboard’s Hot Alternative Songs chart, Machine Gun Kelly completely dominates, occupying half of all the spots on the 25-rung tally. The former rapper places 12 tracks from his new full-length on the list, easily making him the king of the roster this time around.

Impressively, Machine Gun Kelly claims ownership over half of all the spots inside the top 10, though he doesn’t quite climb all the way to the peak position. Up first among the bunch of hits is “My Ex’s Best Friend” with Blackbear, which lifts to No. 3. Not far behind that cut comes another collaboration, “Forget Me Too,” which features Halsey. That title debuts at No. 5.

Further down inside the top 10, “Bloody Valentine” improves to No. 6 while “Drunk Face” and “All I Know” with Trippie Redd open at Nos. 8 and 10, respectively.

All but two of Machine Gun Kelly’s dozen charting cuts on this week’s Hot Alternative Songs ranking are new to the tally, with only “My Ex’s Best Friend” and “Bloody Valentine” having already spent some time on the rather new roster.

Machine Gun Kelly’s performance on the Hot Alternative Songs chart is similar to his showing on this week’s Hot Rock & Alternative Songs ranking, where he doesn’t quite own half of all the real estate (as there are 50 rungs), but he does claim more spaces than anyone else.

Below is a look at where all of Machine Gun Kelly’s 12 tracks rank on this week’s Hot Alternative Songs chart.
