Model And Good Vibes Advocate Raven Tracy Shares Her Top Tips To Staying Positive

Raven Tracy has always been an advocate of good vibes. She’s a model (signed to Freedom Models agency) and entrepreneur, setting up her own brand, Body by Raven Tracy, think sportswear for Gen Y an Z that promotes body positivity.

But whatever she’s doing, she carries a positive mindset and she wants to help us feel happy too.

Breathe. Stay present: With all that’s going on, it can be easy to panic and start worrying about what’s to come. Panicking is counterproductive, so just breathe and remember that we can control how we feel by controlling our thoughts. Live in the present moment and this too shall pass.

Educate yourself on what’s going on to limit misinformation: There are tons of different opinions and updates from people and sites that may not be the most reputable. Therefore, limit your intake and always check that your source is verified with valid information to decrease your potential stress.

Take time to yourself to do absolutely nothing and don’t you dare feel bad about it: We as a people often feel the need or the pressure to keep going. We focus on what’s next before we even finish what we are working on. Many of us even feel bad for resting and don’t take quality time with ourselves. Use this time to do whatever it is that you want, even if it’s just sleeping or just watching television without any guilt. Maybe this is the universe’s way of saying we all need a break.

Keep your home clean and tidy: Cleaning your home can help against the spread of illness and organizing clutter can also feel therapeutic for some people.

Get yourself back on track by you doing your regular daily activities: It’s easy to lose focus sometimes when you feel out of your element… so wake up, make your bed, and get completely dressed as if you were going out. Continue on with any daily habits that can be done from home. If you can, designate at least five hours at the table per day to work, create, or to expand your knowledge at something…anything! Again, I repeat, do not stay in your pajamas!

Stay active: Home workouts are a vibe. Look at the bright side, you can workout in the comfort of your home and try new things in privacy without feeling like someone is watching you haha. One great workout channel on YouTube that I love and always reference is Fitness Blender (thank me later).

Set up FaceTime dates and/or chill sessions with your loved ones to stay connected: Buy snacks, wine, music, movies and just vibe out the best way you can. Technology has made virtual parties a possibility! This can be new and exciting if you’re open minded.

Take this time to learn something new: If you’ve ever said “One day I’m gonna” or “If I had more time I’d”…Now is your chance to take advantage of the free time and to just do it. You’ll feel so accomplished after. This is how we build character and self confidence- by setting goals and reaching them. So choose that one thing big or small and just do it.

Offer a helping hand to someone else in need: This is a sure way to brighten up your day! I always feel refreshed and restored after acts of kindness. Pay for someone’s groceries at the store if you can, help an elderly person gather their groceries in the hectic crowds, check on your neighbors, or something as simple as offering a smile can mean everything to someone in this time.

Talk to someone if you need to: There are resources available for people that may be struggling during this time. If you’ve attempted to shake the negative effects of this quarantine and you just can’t, please reach out to someone. This is completely normal and you are not alone. Many therapists offer sessions over the phone or even FaceTime. There are also apps like Habitica , Aloe Bud, and My Possible Self  if you aren’t ready to speak with anyone. These apps help with creating self-discipline and overall better self-control, so that you may see this time as empowering by the end of it all. Remember to take each day as it comes.
