Model Karlie Kloss—Jared Kushner’s Sister-In-Law—To Participate In Biden Campaign Event

TOPLINE

Supermodel Karlie Kloss, who is married to Jared Kushner’s brother, will take part in an event about women working in science, technology, engineering, art and math fields hosted by the Biden campaign this week, where she’ll tout the former vice president’s agenda for women and post-high school education, drawing on her experience as the founder of the girls coding program Kode With Klossy.

KEY FACTS

On Thursday, Kloss will join Reshma Saujani, founder of Girls Who Code, and other speakers to share what women in STEAM fields are accomplishing, as well as Biden’s agenda, according to a release.

Kloss married Kusher’s younger brother, venture capitalist Joshua Kushner, in 2019—but the two are reportedly very different than Jared and Ivanka when it comes to politics.

According to Town & Country, Joshua is a “lifelong Democrat,” while Kloss has hinted she has different political views than much of her husband’s family.

Both took part in the March For Our Lives anti-gun violence rally in 2018, and Joshua was spotted at the Women’s March in 2017, though he reportedly said he was there as an observer, according to Washingtonian.

Attendees can register for the virtual event here.

Key background

Speculation about Kloss’ relationship with the Kushers mounted early this year after a clip of her on Project Runway went viral. When a judge told a contestant who was tasked with designing a dress for her it didn’t look like something she would wear, he responded with “Not even to dinner with the Kushners?” Kloss later told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, “I’m sure I’m not the only person in this country who does not necessarily agree with their family on politics. I voted as a Democrat in 2016 and I plan to do the same in 2020.” Kloss also said she was “honored to be one of the first memes of the decade.”

Tangent

Jared reportedly asked Kloss’ emergency physician father, Kurt Kloss, to seek out doctor recommendations for the federal coronavirus response, the New York Times reported in March.
